Re: My new Scoot!

Have you taken possession? I don't understand how the seller can have a 60% positive rating on one sale, and when I click the name, it doesn't come up as an ebay member..

But if you have it, and it's good and legal, congratulations! Those are very nice bikes.

Re: My new Scoot!

Congrats...you wont regret it. Got my used '05 about 3 months ago and I cant wipe the smile off my face even when its 24 degrees outside. Would have liked an '06 because of the refinements but couldnt talk the wifey into new since it was my 2nd bike in a year and we just ahd a baby...no need to push my luck!

From the looks of that thing you wont need to add many farkles...that seat is sweet! Looks like he has some kinda RAM mont for a radar detector, ect....

Re: My new Scoot!

Try getting the wife to do an IBA SS1000 on the back of an R1....it will be the last time she does that.

Hell I wouldn't want to do an SS1000 on the front of a R1.

Congrats Leelover. Nice ride.

Re: My new Scoot!

Thanks guys! AND Frenchie!
I have picked it up and ridden it from Seminloe to Ft. Myers. And that's about all for now, too busy trying to get Mom into an assisted living facility.
I found the bike on ebay but wasn't able to make the purchase till after the auction ended. It went well.
The box above the right grip is a waterproof radar detector mount. The box and the det. were not included. The thing in the center of the bars is a mount for a Garmin GPS.
So far I am diggin it! Need to put it through more tests when I get back home.
Yeah, It is no track machine. Guess I will need a dedicated track bike...

Re: My new Scoot!

Good tourer, Leelover . I've not ridden one of these (too heavy for me) but quite a few ex-VFR riders have them and have positive feedback.

I started at 16 years old in Montreal. By the age of 17 I started drag racing then fell in love with Formule 1 so I was always at the track... one day I decided to do track, by 18 I had 2 sponsors.... Dunlop and my Dad.... move to Miami where my dad lives at 19 to follow my dream. Got pregnant and had a baby a month of my 21st bday so I gave it up to raise my boy as a single mom.... road couple cruiser few years later but couldn't handle the pain of not beeing on a race track so.......I quit... bad mistake on my part cause I could have done both.

Last year, I was talking to a guy I went to school and he told me about Grattan... After all those years of rasing mykids, finishing my degree, and working my butt off, I decided that it was time for me to do something for me.........so I went on line, did some research and went for a 2004 R6.... Here I am after 24 track days and nothing can't stop me now.

So, here's a little short versious of my last 23 years.

BTW.... sorry for stealing your thread there Leelover....

Forget the grips, check out the wwwwiiiidddeeee seat. You could ride through the stock tank and and aux tank with that,
speaking as a former Beemer owner.

I like the rain proof radar detector, why slow down on wet roads.

Nice bike!
