Yamaha FZ-6

So, first 50 mile impressions... Comfy and upright. Decent power. Clunky transmission. Usual speedo error.

Hopefully the transmission will smooth out over the break in. Most of my other bikes did.

Took the bike to work today. No it didn't get blown over. I parked way away from the helipad. Did a good job as a commuter. I didn't notice a great deal of heat off the underseat exhaust. But then again, traffic kept moving so I didn't have lots of sitting around.

My old tank bag and tail bag fit right on, so that was easy. The GPS mount went on easily as well.

So far, I'm happy. Now just thinking about what exhaust to get...

My old FZR600 had a clunky tranny too.

A friend he said he knew I was coming by the crunch he could hear when I shifted coming up his street.

Heh, it ins't quite THAT bad

Mainly shifting gears esp 2-3 takes a real shove with the toe to get it to go in. It actually has improved since the firs 20 miles...

I was hoping to hear it bounce off the limiter for a few minutes dammit.

But thats a nice sounding pipe...of course, my bike sounds like a piece of agricultural equipment, so any modern I4 sounds nice

Further proof, you can make it louder or quieter but it still sounds like a damned combine.

It is smoothing out nicely. Kind of weird power curve. Up to about 5k, there is decent power, great for through town riding. Then a dip until about 8-9k.
