    Kevin Schwantz School Again

I was in Atlanta this weekend with the other half...and after enjoying Atlanta with her (shopping, spa, eataing out, etc...) I enjoyed another 2 days of Suzuki School. Now a good deal of the students were returning so this allowed the school to move along a lot quicker. I will have a full write up soon, but breifly on one of the sessions everything came together and I was almost perfect (I ran off track once in turn 3). I was in the advanced group and in the fast line for the entire school. That group held myself and my friend, 2 former AMA racers and a few riders from Brazil. More details to follow, but work calls...

I stayed at the Omni...I loved it. Then Country Inn and Suites for the school. Went all over. Underground, a bunch of malls, the touristy stuff. I will include that in my write up.

I stayed at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center and Health System.

    Their food sucks.

The treatment and service was top notch. I just don't like gelatin deserts, or any hospital food for that matter.

Oops, I forgot. Thanks for reminding me CBRVFR. Yes indeed, say hello to Marnie for certain! They are all great folks there, but she was very nice to me.

I too am anticipating your track report anxiously.

Am I the only person (besides Jason who was with me and all the instructors and mechanics that we talked to) that thinks Marnie was a bitch? With this group, I would guess that's a yes . . .

That's only because you didn't give her the 'smile'...

Us old guys have to keep practicing technique lest losing out to others. Listerine and English Leather gets a guy halfway to first base, but it's that smile that's a killer.

No, actually I found Marnie to be very pleasant and helpful. We exchanged quite a few emails prior to the AMA women's conference trackday that the KSSS did for them. We've exchanged some emails recently, too. I find her to be a very nice person. Maybe you were there at the wrong time of the month. She's good people!

    Re: Kevin Schwantz School Again

I didn't actually have a problem with her, but she did make several derogatory comments about my "Medusa" helmet and would give several of the instructors the "evil eye" whenever they started having fun. At the dinner she was given a rather dubious award from the crew and she was not pleased at all. I was told the last time a few of the "cast" got together to poke fun at her, all of them were fired the following day.

Every one of the instructors (including Kevin) were walking on eggs around her the entire three days . . .

Well who is she, Kevin's wife? Baby momma? Girlfriend? Owner?

That's a bad combination. All he has to do is not wash the dishes or take out the trash and then everyone pays the price the next day.

I first became aware of her from a RRWorld article several years back (pre Schwantz School era) where she had gotten into it with the police at the Mid Ohio National that ticketed Kevin for riding an unlicensed pit bike around the perimeter of the track (it has happened to literally thousands of people over the years due to the lame geographics surrounding the track).

Evidently she got into one of the officer's face and demanded they show Kevin the same respect they would show Mario Andretti or Rick Mears (both had been ticketed at Indy Light events, but didn't have their pit vehicles (golf carts) confiscated and impounded). They tried to arrest Kevin when things got heated and she went ballistic and if I recall correctly, they were both ejected from the premises. The track later apologized for the incident, but I believe she filed a personal civil suit against the track and the police over the whole thing.

I was pretty amazed as I didn't realize at the time that Kevin and his wife had been separated and this "person" just came out of nowhere . . .
