3.05 miles, 20 turns, 40 feet wide, 65 feet elevation changes and a 3.75 acres paddock area all paved
This is a HARD track, really technical and fast. LOTS of blind corners and decreasing radius turn. It takes a while to figure it all out, but when you remember that after the hill it turns right or left the fun really begins.
I found a track map with corner names, so refer to it to understand the review Calabogie track map.JPG
The Kink is corner #1, it's FAST left after the "short" start finish line. Jacques ans Gilles is actually a long right. If you nailed it it's one long turn, if you don't you'll have to make correction between the 2. The hard part is that Gilles is a blind corner, you see it when you're in it. I was still trying to figure it out after the third day and 480 miles of riding.
Easy is a fast left, you're hard on the gas into it and getting ready for the long Rocky Road straight. Sir John A. is hardly turning and Mulligans is not so bad but the radius is decreasing quite a bit into Big Rock. Candy Mountain is another blind corner, but damn is it fun when the fear of being wide open throttle while leaning knees on the ground going into something you can't see.
Temptation is a tricky one, Decreasing radius turn where at least 15 rider crashed over the week-end, yeah.... 15.
WFOT in Deliverance and don't even touch the brake for The Crown and the Brown. So fast and so freaking fun!!! The Beak, The Throat and the Hook are tight and technical.
The Ridge, The Spoon, 4 Left are real fast, with lots of elevation changes and blind spot. Then a nice triple apex corner is waiting for you. Wilson is the last corner and the fun starts again!
There's is NO track that come close to this one on the East Coast I think. I have never been to Barber but from what I saw, if it's not better it's real close.
Northernrr was there. The guy is quick learner!!!! He started in the beginners group, it took only 2 or 3 sessions before he got bumped into intermediate and by the third day he was doing time that some expert where not running This was only his second track day!!!! He's going to be fun to watch at Grattan!
I'll post some pictures later this week. Thanks to V and Sue!
Reminds me of Road America, it looks like racing motorcycles in Central Park or something. Beautiful location!

That was truely AWESOME... I have been to a lot of tracks (road america, road atlanta, mid ohio the list goes on and on) and this one is by far the BEST I have ever atteneded. I had only ever visited the others and was VERY excited to get out on it.
IT DOES NOT DISAPOINT.
I have a few pics too, but it will be a LONG time until I get them up. The photographers were good, they made me look like I was actually going quick...
JBD and V are two of the nicest people I have ever had a chance to meet(on more than one occasion) and if you ever get a chance to try the crepes go for it...
I will be back there another 4 times at least this year and I am hoping to book another 4 days after this weekend... it is that good.
All in all, I learned a LOT. Knocked a crap load of time off my laps and met some really great people who cared more about how I was going around the track than how much shiney stuff was on my bike... (nice change)

Yup... may as well sell the street shit. Maybe even buy some safety wire pliers.

So all the video I see the rails seem like they are way to close. How does run off look in person.
They do look pretty close on the Vid but it's not bad at all. I never felt insecure riding the track. There is PLENTY of run off spaces in the area where you are more likely to crash.
The track is REALLY technical, we had at least 15 crashes on the first morning and probably 25 total. Everybody walked out of there on their feet.
