Re: JetBdude track review, Calabogie, Ontario

    Thank you guys!

I had fun over there...Looks like an awesome track to ride but for spectators, isn't the best.. we see about 10-15 sec.of 2:30min. more or less!
I took some pics but I had stay under the sun and chatting with Sue!
The weather was nice the first day, but the next 2 nights and days was FREEKING COLD! I'm not kidding, it was so cold that it was more hard to enjoy anything. No shower and nothing really practical hygiene wise!
The fact that JBD and NRR was So happy and had such a blast help me a lot to enjoy it too!

Over all, that was a really fun week-end. Thanks to NRR and Sue.

I'm SOOOOOOOOO looking forward to Grattan!

Grip was only an issue once for me... after that "moment" it was all good. Mind you I am considerably slower than Mr JBD(he is smooth)

Yes there is. The owners are REALLY nice. They had a fire going on at the gate, witch where open until 11:00 PM the night before the track day, and they invited us to join them.

Canadian superbike will race there in May. Looking forward to see what kind of lap time they'll run!

They will be running a different track configuration than what we have been doing. they basically cut out the long back straight and use the RIGHT off of the front straight to avoid that section. should be interesting either way.

But yeah I'd like to see lap times from those guys on the full track too. Mind you pro 6 is having a track day the day before it if you can get in to "compare"

Don't kid yourselves... those guys are fucking fast. Szoke ran a 1:15 here on his Kawi last year when the fastest local guys are at 1:20.

I don't think at all my lap time will be any close as those guys, just looking forward to see how much behind I am, not how close.

I talked to a guy who runs in the parts canada class as a sponsored rider(I just forget his name) he's on a honda and said they were running 2:06's pretty early on when he was there before it opened... we're not that far off. what's 8-10 seconds on a track anyway? hahaha

Word for the wise for those planning on attending calabogie at any point they have a pretty strict noise requirement for the bikes.

I was there for the first time a week ago. When my bike was noise tested, I was told it had to be under 90db @ 2/3 throttle.

Bringing a stock exhaust is not a bad idea if you have only a slip-on. If you have a full system and it is loud..... have a back up plan.

    This sound accurate.

They have you rev the bike at 2/3 of his max RPM standing still in the pits and you have to be under 90db.

The track is worth the trouble if you have to swap exhaust

I actually failed my first sound test. Then one of the testers came over and said 'i'll do it this time'. He revved it up to about 6500rpm, got the reading from the other tester, and said you're good.

Anywho, this track is incredible! I'm hooked, can't wait to be back this weekend.

website says average of no more than 98dbA and no single reading over 100dbA. mine came in at I think 96 or so but I didn't rev it too high like 7k I think. If I were to really rev it there's no way I woulda passed and I would have had to put the stock exhaust system back on.

really is a fun track, but its loooooong. I ran there with TPM and they did 4 groups (cause they wanted more money to make the trip from NJ worth it for themselves). terrible, never run with an org that's gonna do 4 groups, especially there. 4 groups meant you got in 1 warm up lap and 2 good laps, maybe 3 if you were fast and got around in time per session.

Thanksfully Pro6 has the exclusive rights to trackdays at Calabogie this year. They're a good bunch of guys!
