They put on a good day, I hear. I'll be there in July/August with Absolute Cycle.

It was really good to finally meet you. (Oh, and the wife, too...!)
Congrats on finally getting out to the track, and for making it through two full days without a scratch! You looked pretty darn smooth and comfortable, and I could see you getting faster as you put some laps in over the two days, so you were doing it perfectly!
Do whatever you can to join us at Grattan next year; it's SO worth the trip.

Great looking bike, too!
Great to meet you too TAZ. Your photos can obviously make anyone look decent. It's especially awesome that you make it look like I'm "leading" so that I can impress my friends and family who don't understand that a track day is not a race, lol!
Seriously though, top-notch work. My bud bought a set of his pics and is thrilled with them (he was 512.) Too bad you weren't in turn two when he trashed the instructor's SV while chasing Tony.
This is our time to get "the big inspection" at work that comes around every four years, so Grattan is impossible. Next summer I should be all out of excuses though.
Thanks again!

Looks like you had a blast! Planning any other days at NJMP? I'm looking to do some with Absolute Cycle (www.absolutecycle.com) Let me know if you'll be at any Absolute or NESBA events there!

It was incredible! The wife worked the pits and liked it so much that she sent me texts all day asking if I found a bike for her yet, lol.
If work permits, I'll be at all of Tony's NJMP (and some of his New Hampshire) dates this year. It sure would help to find some weekend dates though....will have to check out absolute cycle and NESBA.
For anyone looking to do a Northeast track-day, I can't recommend Tony's enough!

Absolute has weekend dates there, on the Thunderbolt course. Or at least they're partial weekends. July 26 & 27 (Sun-Mon); and August 15-17 (Sat, Sun, Mon). They have others, but those are the ones I'm hoping to attend. Haven't signed up yet.
NESBA is there, on the Lightning course, on Aug 8 & 9 (Sat, Sun). Not sure I'll make that one.

to the addiction that will drain your bank account, strain your marriage, and ruin street riding forever. Nice pics
It has already started, lol.
The wife came out to the garage this evening and said "where are you going to keep my bike?"
Thinking that she was kidding I called her bluff, went online, and showed her a local 2007 Ninja 250R with only 66 miles on it tonight. It can probably be had for under $2k.
So much for the bluff, she wants to go look at it tomorrow!
Although I never plan to sell the RC, I can already see why people give up sport-riding on the street.

Awesome! Get her to a MSF class. Then get her riding. You need to be a proficient street rider before hitting the track...get going!

Depending on how much she rides and her learning curve, a year or two may be sufficient.

Thanks to Tony too. Although I have no point of reference, I can't imagine anyone putting on a better track-day.
Unfortunately there were two Ducs stolen on the night of the 21st. I think one was a Bayliss replica and the other a Hayden...with a real signature on the tank.
to the a-hole(s) who took them. NJMP is going to install cameras to hopefully deter it from happening again. Lesson learned, be careful with your stuff anywhere.
On the plus side, definitely getting faster and can feel that the body position improving. Kind of squidly to even worry about it, but I got my first knee-down too. Chalk up one life-long goal achieved. Can't wait to get out there again on Oct 5/6!

Interesting that they did not make them tape the light on that bike behind you. That is even real glass so more likely to shatter it would seem. Good looking pics though

Yeah..not sure why.
It is an instructor/control rider though.

...and once again, I'll be on the Lightning course that day, the 5th. This time with Absolute Cycle. One of these days, DUX, we'll attend the same day!
NESBA just added Oct 25 on T-bolt, in addition to Oct 26th. I'm planning on the Sunday only.

Probably my last two for the season.
Maybe next year.

Tony is hurting for attendees for the Oct days. He's still gonna run them since the track has already been paid but is asking people to post everywhere to try to get some more people to go. So at a minimum you should get a ton of track time and probably a lot of personal attention on those days Dux.

Yeah, got the email today.
I hope more folks sign up. I'd like to see him continue making the trip to NJ.
Pass the word and sign up if you can!

Thanks again for everything. I've been wanting to get into track days for the past 15 or so years, and this has exceeded any of my expectations by far.
Looking forward to next year.....would love to meet some more of the .org folks out there!
Taz,
Great pics again! It's been great to see the difference b/n my first day ever and the last one of this season (see pics of the same corner.) Don't forget dinner at McGlynn's in November!
