Winning like he does, Im sure he clears that much, minimum. I wonder what his win percentage is... Makes you wonder why he doesnt have a factory ride. He would probably make less money! lol

Awesome day The Mrs and I enjoyed hanging out with Eyauch between sessions. Brought the bike (and myself) home in one piece. Rained slightly for 2 sessions so I (we) sat out. Water is for the ducks. Very happy with my new tires Got the new Pirelli's on with help from Eric first thing this morning and glad I switched. Those things stick. Confidence level back up.
Almost hit a turtle before the jump. Thought it was a leaf as I was approaching, but then seen a head stretched out. I thought the turtle/squirrel stories were just rumors. The sucker was about 18 inches from the outside line. Oh, and I learned how to trailbrake and not on purpose. Trying to follow those damn white plate guys into T1 and realized I missed my marker about 200 feet back. Realized I was for sure going to overload my front tire so hammered on the rear break not expecting to slide. Luckily my butt was off the seat ready for the turn. Slid the rear, threw the front end in and hoped for the best. Spent the next half a lap thinking Such trailbraking techniques are meant for someone with much bigger .. then me.

So I have to admit that I enjoyed my time at Grattan today. I enjoyed watching all riders, but to see my Silver all excited made me happy and proud of him! He did a great job as well as Eyauch . I'm looking forward to the 3-day event as I wish we didn't have to leave and head home today. It honestly would have been fun to stay for another day.....Shhh don't tell my Silver!
During the second to the last session, I was really into watching and taking pics and then it happened.......of course someone had to go down right in front of me. I saw it happening as the guy was riding on the grass before getting back on the track and then going down hard. It was a terrible sight and a terrible sound. It took him a long time to become conscious again and I was worried for that guy. Honestly, seeing that produced my fear level of something happening to my husband increase tremendously! I heard about all the accidents today in the other sessions, but when you actually witness one for the first time it makes you even more fearful.
Anyway......as I was observing I was thinking about how the 2-up session could be pretty cool. I decided to sit this one out and observe in hopes to participate the next time I'm there. I assumed the 2-up session was slower than the rest of the sessions, but as I observed today, I realized that they still go really fast! I will still give it a shot as long as MrSilver takes it easy with me at first!
I'm excited to meet everyone at Grattan.....see you then! Yay!!
Each of us has something different to contribute, and no matter how small or insignificant it may seem, it can be for the benefit of all.
It was a decent day to ride no doubt. Nice to pit with Mr./Mrs silver....very good people indeed
Silver went out in the "A" group and held his own. Getting passed and doing some passing. Towards the end of the day he was towing a group of 5 riders around.
He looked pretty quick out there. "160" quick though I can't confirm because I rode in the slow group.
We'll have someone other than Mr. Silver give you the two-up ride...just ask JetB.
bwhip is a solid choice for two-up as well.
...dude you ride an offroad bike with slicks, 1/2 the weight of a GS, double the suspension, with a browning 50 cal going off 32" from your skull as a daily freaking driver - I'd expect anything except a nitro dragbike to be bland by comparison - SSG
you went with the Dragon Supercorsas right? still can't decide between them and the DC3s. with the DC3s I can get a package deal and add a trackday for another $109.

That sounds like a deal to me.

I have a Diablo front and Dragon rear (both green/med) Great tires.. no complaints, no regrets. Brent Bennet told me he can't tell the difference between the Dragon and Diablo rear, and he's capable of running 19's so no need to spend the extra $ for the Diablo rear . No squirm/unstableness whatsoever in the tires. At first I was running 2 warm up laps (1:42ish) to warm them before progressively pushing it. Toward the end of the day I found after one lap they were pretty much all go. They are wearing nice and even. Depending on what times you plan on running, many are happy with the DC III's too. Do you want life or performance? The DC III's give a little of both.
I think my suspension is getting closer. Forks are nice and firm. Rear feels a little mushy but front tire is now wearing with the rear. A work in progress...
Rear pegs are still on. Way too much work in taking them off (have to remove all electrical and tray to get to the bolts), and at this point its still a street bike. I will give the Mrs the two up ride I'm use to riding her on the street, and very comfortable on the track. We'll keep it at a good street pace.
..and Eyauch is sandbagging in the "slow" group.

I know, and that's the problem. even has me contemplating NHMS. gotta ask the boss today about getting the 17th off so I can do a pre-Grattan tune up.

I don't really care about life of the tires so much. They'll go on spare wheels and be used for trackdays. I can get plenty of street miles out of the used Pilot Powers I have on the bike now. I'll probably only be midpack Intermediate so really I think the DC3s will be good but my brain says I want more grip even though I can't use even what the DC3s have. An over abundance of grip is never a bad thing.
I hope Eyauch wsn't in the slow slow group cause that'd realy be sandbagging it.

If you can get the package deal on the DC III's get them. The sides on the III's are soft. The only reason I didn't go III's is because where I'm getting mine, there are a few dollars difference in price between the two models, and they are only for the track. Now that I've chosen the path I have, I'll continue to run these from now on. If you can get the Dragons at a close price to the DC III's, and that will give you the extra confidence to push harder.. get them. As long as the new team whale watch is all running Pirelli's we'll still be able to keep our sponsorship

Nice time Silver....almost sheeplike of course I am intermediate not expert and the RC can't get to 160....
time? If you are referring to my 1:42, that was my warming of the tires (no warmers) not running speed and for the record I didn't look at my speedo all day.

You say you were warming up at 1:42. What kind of times were you running after your warm up laps?
Yes, 1:60 was exactly what I was going to say!
Well, this was the first time I used this lap timer. Had it in a bad spot on the bike apparently trying to figure out if the timer was junk or it was not reading the beacon. First session sat out due to rain, next two session’s timer wasn't reading right. (5 and 4 min laps ) So Eyauch and I switched timers and zip tied his to my rear peg. Got my two warm up laps in (42's) and half way on the third lap rider down in the bus stop. Three laps of caution (with no red flag and bike in the track the whole time ) I ran 1:37's for each of those. No clean laps. More rain after lunch so we sat out. Finally got one good session in at the end.. no rain, no wrecks and felt really strong. Came in and we checked the timer.. someone removed the beacon as many left toward the end.
