They have sunday as well, but $175 to ride putnam is too much IMO.

But you're spoiled by living so close. For one of us traveling over 5 hours, it might be worth it to stick around for 2 days to amortize the gas.

I think Putnam would be a good season warm up track. Relatively good flowing with a variety of turns that are a little less tricky than Grattan. To get your feet wet and work out the kinks, it could be a good options ... but as always, to each his/her own.

Grattan is tricky? Putnam have any fast, long corners? I need more practice on those. All Grattans corners, except for the one back sweeper are so tight.

Turn 1 at Grattan is actually pretty open

Turn 1 at Putnam is very fast if you are willing and they you slow while leaned over and tighten it up to go into 2. Then there is a wide, long left hander that catches a lot of people out because by then your tires cool. The right hander(s) leading onto the straight is a fairly long, medium speed right hander that seems to go on for a long time.

Also, don't know about now, but when I was there several years ago the track surface was very abrasive and sticky (in most places). May have worn down by now. It was fun, and should meet your requirement.

Putnam is a fast flowing track, and yes T1 is fast as hell if you have the balls to push it. I still brake too early for it though. And the T9-T10 configuration is long and flowing as well. The only thing i hate about T10 is the armco barrier right outside on the exit. The surface needs redone, as it is getting some bumps in it but NOTHING like Grattan.

this will give you a feel for the layout.

Looks good. I'm in if our dates go sour. Memorial day is on the Monday following so it would be good. 5 hour drive home Sunday night and can still rest Monday. I'd probably rather do both days since I'll be learning the track the first day. Anyone else thinking the same here

just updated their site with this
    IMPORTANT CONSTRUCTION UPDATE 5.06.09
Andy Vertrees met with Hinkle Construction yesterday to prepare for mobilization while I was driving back from Florida where I met with a few of the investors to ensure plan B is in place. This ensures that when we get the green light, we're moving earth and paving with no further delay. We're not taking any chances on this one. We continue to focus on the tasks at hand to get the facility operational and not let news that is two months old deviate us from our goal. Point being, we're moving forward after this slight delay. For the people who do not always see the positives of a situation, I assure you the sky is not falling.
Let's talk permits. As mentioned in our earlier posts, there are two key items that are still needed to open the track this Spring. It's really this simple. We have sent Redwing Ecological (our permit consultants) everything required to submit the impacts to the Corps and the integrated plan includes the new graded paddock design with the track. Our streams are very important to the watershed because the Ohio River is about one-mile downstream and so Redwing required an oil/water separator at the top of intermittent 1. This is agreeable and not a concern for any future delay.
We have over 30 people at the track working every weekend if you would like to stop by to discuss the project and take a touring lap. We are also there most days during the week.
To all supporters, I thank you for your commitment to Bluegrass. We all make the World the way it is and it's awesome to see people who share a common passion come together to ensure the success of Bluegrass Motorsports Park. Even though the past few months have been very lean, it has been the most rewarding from a social and business aspect since I started the company. Thank you.

I wish they would just tell us it's canceled. That way we can sign up for Putnam before the price jumps, or it fills up.

There is no way they will tell us it's cancelled until it's too late to sign up for other events.

STT has much of their competetion beaten back, or on their heels...so they will will continue to leverage every advantage to keep money out of the pockets of other operators until they are gone...

The only people that lose is us...

Personally based on the PM I got I see no way it will happen. I have not cancelled the room yet though. The guy that sent it is not a flighty loon so while he could be wrong I am just not seeing it happen.

Kind of ticks me off that they are dragging their feet this close in. If things are even close to what people say I cannot see any possible way this is going to happen. If they cancelled I can push the $$ to a Barber date instead of staying in limbo

So since y'all hate STT and yet need to spend the credit you can come to Barber this fall

Credit is a dumb option even if you are going to book another STT event. If the subsequent event gets cancelled, you do not get another credit...STT policy...

You are better off getting a refund, then booking again...

Here is the email I got.

    Dear Sportbike Track Time Members:

We wanted to inform you that the May 30 and 31st event at Bluegrass Motorsports Park has been cancelled.
Although we are all anxious to ride at Bluegrass, the track has informed us this morning that their construction may not be completed in time for our May track days

In order to help you get your May riding fix, we are happy to make you a special offer of $100 per day at AutoBahn or Beaverun on Saturday or Sunday (or both days for $200) this upcoming weekend.

To take advantage of this special offer, sign up for this weekend at Autobahn or Beaverun at Sportbike Track Time - Get on the right track !! Toll Free #888-390-4020 and write in the registration comment section "Bluegrass 5/30 & 5/31 Registrant". The discount will be automatically honored. You can also register "at track" as well.

If this weekend at Autobahn or Beaverun doesn’t fit into your schedule we will provide you with a credit good for a full year or a refund for your Bluegrass registration.

We apologize for any inconvenience and we look forward to riding with you soon! We will update the STT Forum General Section regularly with Bluegrass info.

    Sincerely,

    Monte and Bonnie
