JetBdude track review: Mirabel, Quebec

Mirabel is a small town just north of Montreal. They close the international airport that was built in the 70's and redirected all the passenger flight to Dorval but let the cargo flight there. The HUGE concrete slab where the plane were taxiing is now a race track.

That HUGE slab is made of hundreds of smaller slabs, around 30x30 foot, with a 1 to 2 inch gap in between all of them for expansion. This is sometimes frightening when you get one of those expansion joint at the "wrong" angle. The bike feels like it's wobbling. Changing your line slightly will prevent that from happening.

Grip is no issue, lots of it! The Dunlops seems to like concrete, they don't wear on it!!!! People running Bridgestone where complaining that their tires where destroyed after the day though. Even under the rain guys where telling me that they where dragging knees, never tried it myself as I was fortunate enough to have a break in the weather both time I was there (we have one hell of a crappy summer over here).

The layout of the track is fun, fairly fast and not too technical. It's FLAT, Jennings feels like the rockies compare to this. It's hard to get you markers, as everything seems like it's gray. They painted lines and fake grass but still.

I like riding there, don't think it's the case for most of the racer that went there. Track day riders seems to have fun, but most of the racer did not care for it, and I don't think I'll see them there again. Don't know why?

The main reason I like this track is that it is 1.5 hour away from my place. It's not Calabogie by any means, or Tremblant, but I'd rather ride there than not

Really forgiving track, lot's of different lines are goods in some sections, witch is good for practicing different approach.

Here's a little vid I put together.

hahaha... I'm famous...

Nice vid. I honestly didn't know that you were behind me for that long the whole day...

On the bright side, I found those 2+ seconds I need.

I still don't think I did to bad for my first day there.
