TGP 8/2-3

So the day started with my cam acting up so I disconnected it I wanted TGP video but it ain't happening. Then it was hot and uber super humid. I was ringing wet the first two sessions. Session one I ran poorly but was getting used to the track. Session two I started to click some and was wading through the goats pretty good still was fighting to get any semblence of smooth and my gear selection going. Session three things clicked and though tired I finally felt a bit of flow going. Not sure morning times as my timer was not turning on (beacon battery was weak and only some got it). Then a trip to Walmart at lunch for a towel to dip in the cooler. The temperature had risen so humidity dropped some but it stayed real high (they got 4-5 inches of rain recently and it is still boiling that off)

After lunch I go out and didn't have the warmers on so I was going easy. A white bike passes me and I think no biggie I will get him on warm tires. Well for the next 20 minutes I am chasing with him I caught him and we hit traffic, then he got by and I didn't. That repeated the whole session it was a blast as while I would have pulled away he was running quick enough the I did not have my pace destroyed. He came by at the end and we chatted he enjoyed it a LOT also. He said he would pass someone and pull away then here comes the rumble

Well I did 2 more sessions but got a bit of a cramp from the heat so I got off and saved a bit for tomorrow. Oh and the punch line is we both got booted to "A" for tomorrow..... I will be checking for bottles of BBQ sauce just in case

Then after a real fun day I get even better news.... tomorrow Seamus will be here Maybe I can pull some strings and get him promoted to "A"

Oh no pictures if I was not on the bike I was finding shade and sucking down water, sorry.

Sounds fun! But also sounds hot.

Grattan is supposed to have a beautiful weather tomorrow - high of 84 and low humidity.

Congrats on the bump, sounds like a good time down south. Heat and humidity is part of it, suck it up.

Sheep's thermometer registered 108 and 50% humidity at one point today. I did not like it at all.

It just wasn't that much fun. I've got salt stains on the white Under Armor shirt I was wearing.

Well I got one 'extra' lesson in heat. Not only did I do two days (and did have fun) but I got to experience the side effects of pushing your tires to far

Seamus is worn but he will verify that everyone said today was actually better than yesterday So after yesterday and today I am heading in and WAM! sounds like a trailer tire and things get wiggly. Well I get out of the truck and walk around to look and it is the rear on the truck that I have been putted off for WAY to long I can hear it going down and it dented the quarter panel behind the tire when it came apart So don't put off new rubber even on your tow vehicle Oh and changing that in the heat on the side of the interstate after all the riding in the heat was soooo fun

Did someone not tell you to replace those ASAP, and you also agreed as soon as you got back from Grattan you would do so?

That could have been bad if it were the front. Consider yourself lucky, very lucky my friend.

Weird. My check engine light came on about 15 miles from home. Today was not nice at all.

Surprised you didn't mention my 'tard got bumped to Novice because I was "going too slow" yet Right after I passed someone.

I figured I already got my Karma points awarded on the way home while you were sitting in AC and I was jacking the truck up

Though I will point out that you only did one day so imagine how whipped I am. HINT: I am still dragging tail and just planning on limping through the day today Despite a case of water and a couple of gatoraids plus 4 OJ's it was not enough. My legs are sore and I am tired. Though I did win intermediate then on bump win the endurance race with team cheater bike (Triumpn 675) despite the two rider advantage (they DNF'ed)

Oh and I will give you an excuse the 'tard was slower due to chain problems

Where'd you find the pics? I was about to email X-Act to see who the trackside photog was.

Epilogue: New tires on the Sierra, I was going to run with the spare another thousand but... I was updating records and I put the last set on EXACTLY 5 years ago and almost exactly 50K (50142) This set should outlast the truck for me and are Bridgestones so I figure I will be used to them as slicks if they go a bit bald
