Baa-rber June 14-15

Headed out in moments but it is not looking nice for today. Raining and thundering here, the radar shows none in Leeds though. There is even a slight chance that the current storm will pass just north of the track. Not looking good for anything other than a rain day though. Sunday is looking nice though

Amazing! 60% chance of rain predicted for Leeds. Rained all the way down. Started to sprinkle when I took the bike to tech. Then stopped and it was excellant all day! I didn't do the first session as I was considering the other tires. Well it started looking nice and the rain had totally stopped I went out the second session and it was damp in places but you could almost ignore it. From then on it was full out game on! I even did my fastest trackday time at Baa-rber ever (1:46). I stopped at the 6th session as my tires were going away a bit and there was no way they would go Sunday. It started to look a bit stormy on the horizon so I decided to save energy and put new tires on. I torqued the calipers just as it started to sprinkle. I got everything stowed in the trailer before anything but a light srpinkle. Tomorrow I can drag it out and safety wire the RCs front end (back is complete) then it is slick testing time

Well more later, I need to get back to the track and get my cam (forgot it) so I can charge it. Might hit WalMart for a fan also

Well after a day in the Alabama sun followed by a tire change I was tired. I was also a bit dehydrated So when I started today I was a bit sore in the legs and low on energy. I mistook this for energy from working so hard Saturday rather than dehydrated also. I rode all morning and it was BLAZING hot. I did not ride bad but after the first session of getting used to the slicks I just could not get at yesterdays pace even working at it. I felt like I was working twice as hard for times that were off by 2 seconds

Sunday is 2 sessions in the morning and 5 in the afternoon. I decided to sit out session five as soon as I came in. By now I was really pounding water but whipped from lots of riding. I got the bike fueled and everything setup then sat in front of the fan (second one as the first did not spin ) I took a few minute snooze and upon awakening rode the bicycle to the other end to get the blood flowing good. Well the next session I ignored pace and just cruised. My times were not better but I felt in sync for the first time all day. The last session of the day I cranked off a slew of 1:47's

After I got in I realized the difference. I was not looking up and out in the morning. When I get tired I tend to lower my gaze unless I focus on preventing it. That was the whole days issue. That said for a mediocre day I consistantly ran times that would have matched or beat my best last year and a mediocre day at Baa-rber still

Truck is unloaded as is most of the trailer. Now to try to chip the 15 hours of sheep sweat and funk of me

Just video I was busy riding Though I can say that the Motocross track has not progressed much further and there is a new sculpture coming (cleared a spot for it)

Oh and I did get to see a friend (RC owner) and his wife again and got video of a lap or so to send to him on DVD (and he is our newest member )

Just for you....

This makes it birds 0 BlueSheep 2 this guy lost on the back straight at 120MPH (not sissy KPH). I heard the wump so I know I got him. Checked the radiators but did not see anything. Because of the broken garage door he got to sit in the hot trailer until tonight when I could unload into the garage

PS don't bother trying to put this on back in the tree Seamus
