    STAR School

I'm thinking of signing up for the Aug 4-5 dates at NHIS. anyone else care to join me? the site says there's a 99db sound limit imposed by NHIS but I didn't see them doing any sound testing the couple times I was there last year. but I just bought a stock pipe real cheap because I don't wanna take any chances.

Sound limit might be a new thing to go along with the new owner.

They said the same thing last year but my buddies had no issues, even with borderline loud exhausts.

Calabogie also had us do decibel checks but it was kinda on the honor system to rev to (12k?) I have a old D&D and still passed. I think as long as you dont have those gutted race exhausts you're good.

I'll be in the Sunshine State that week... any other dates you looking at?

I may be interested. What is the cost? That is enough time for me to plan it. I will ask a few friends as well.

hmm, well I did just buy a stock can to go on the stock headers I still have. now I can sell the 2Bros can and turn a profit.

nope those are the only dates at NHIS for the school this year and everywhere else is too far.

$700 for 2 days or $375 for each separate day but you have to do day 1 if you haven't done the school before.

That cost is a bargain...STAR is an excellent school, and should be sampled by every trackrider imho...

Look into a group rate. About 6 guys went together last year and they saved some $$. I forget how much but every little bit helps.

I am looking into doing 2 Schwantz Schools this year and a bunch of track days so thats why cost is a concern...but there is plenty of time to plan for August.

isn't Schwantz a little bit more money? do 1 Schwantz, 1 Pridmore and an extra track day or 2 or 3 (Grattan ) to work on what you learned in each. plus NH is closer than Atlanta.

I figured starting this discussion now would leave enough time for people to plan. rather than trying to throw something together last minute and have people say they wanna go but bail because they couldn't get time off or couldn't get the money together.

I know Grattan is before the Star school dates.

Yep Schwantz is more expensive so I have to budget myself. My first school is in a month.

They also used to have a deal where you got a real nice Dunlop discount, don't know if they still do.

Great school for the money, and by far the most fun of the few I've done.
