Cold Trackday Tip #1

When it is cool/cold always bring your boots and leathers back to your room at night. Getting into them in the morning will be easier (not as stiff) and the shock of the cold much less.

Also, leave your helmet in the sun rather than in the shade. It's shield won't fog as bad.

They were predicting 40-45 in the morning I have ridden Little Talledega at 33º but getting the tires up to temp was something you had to do carefully (no warmers). Besides on civilized days those are the LOWS.

I'm good, cant complain.

I dont see how your bikes/batteries are dead.... my CBR sat for like 5 months without starting, on an almost empty tank in freezing temps.

Went to move it yesterday vroom, vroom.... that D&D never sounded so loud. (no, no... it was really loud, I've been riding a stock piped vfr)

Glad to hear it!

Re the batt, it was getting old. Popped a new one in and she spins over fast now!

Yeah, I had a D&D on my 929, it was loud-but soul stirring!

I thought cold trackday tip #1 was the same as warm trackday tip #1: don't fall off.

So when do we get cold trackday tip # 2 from ya???

I have also found, for track or street, if it's cold leave your helmet shield open one click and they will not fog up. I've learned after much time spent commuting in temps that were under 35 degrees. I used to ride as a commuter until the snow fell around here, which could run deep into December.
