Baxley, Condor or Strapless transport stands?

Ok, I have been looking around and have it narrowed down to the three types mentioned in the title.

I have used the Condor, and I have to say it works very well, plus it is relativley small when you take the bottoms off of it to mount in a trailer. Plus it's light, and it's aluminum and nicely finished.

After seeing JBD's Strapless transport stand in action I would have to say the only down side to that thing is how you have to fight with it to get it centered on the bike(hows the back E? ) it is by far the smallest and lightest of the group and it would be easy to get out of the way. But I need a different axle stay for every bike and it wouldn't work too well with the VFR as it has a dust cover on the axle.

Never used a baxley but almost EVERYONE reccomends it... VERY similar to the condor only a little bulkier. (as it should be as the condor is based on the baxley.)

Anyone have anything else I should look for? personal experiances or otherwise? This will be getting mounted in the new trailer. Ease of removal would be a nice thing, as I will be sleeping in the back of it.

Here are the respective websites too

Re: Baxley, Condor or Strapless transport stands?

I like the baxley due to the dual role it can play. 1 It is a trailer chock for transport. 2 with the removal of 2 allen head screws you can use it in the pits for a chock there as well. It is nice to roll the bike into the baxley instead of fighting to find a rear stand.

Baxley. I saw the Condor at a motorcycle show and the quality in no way compares to the Baxley!

Re: Baxley, Condor or Strapless transport stands?

I have Strapless Stands myself.

I like them because it's a solid positive mount for the bike. Yeah, if the trailer tumbles, the front end will be loose, but...

I actually will leave my bikes in the trailer between some events, and I will work on bikes in the trailer. I can work very easily around them.

I always use tire warmers, so a stand that holds either the rear or front tire on the ground isn't any use to me.

Re: Baxley, Condor or Strapless transport stands?

The Baxley and Condor require use of tiedowns, the ST Stands don't. I have both and use the Baxley for the garage and the pits and the ST Stands for the trailer. One other option you might check is Pit-Bull's new trailer stand. Once you get some practice with the ST's, they're very easy to load...especially at the end of a long day.

I use them too. I run the bike in the chock and then after I get my helmet off I can get the rear stand and lift the rear at the same time the bike will retract off of the baxley if you do not let the wheels on the stand roll forward. Sounds tricky but it works.

Re: Baxley, Condor or Strapless transport stands?

Like the Baxleys we have so much I use them in the garage at home. We can park the bikes closer together and save more space by not using the kickstands. I need three more now though.

Like Hammer said, the dual use part is what really makes it worth it for me. I'm never going to use tire warmers so I don't have the issue SD has and riding off the track and into the chock is nice.

I only use two tiedowns per bike on the rear end and, as much as I try, I can't wrap my head around not damaging the axle with the STS.

If you go the Baxley route, let me know. May be able to work the discount system they have to save some money.

Another plug for the Baxley (haven't used the Condor or STS) for the same reason mentioned. They work in my garage and trailer...

Re: Baxley, Condor or Strapless transport stands?

I am biased toward another fine Alabama product but the Condor I saw (at a trade show) seemed real flimsy compared to my Baxley. I talked to the lady at Baxley (she got a picture of passenger sheep for her collection ) and she said a guy that works there parks and then pulls it out for stands and warmers. The advantage to me would be I can get everything in place with me not on the bike (short leg desease) and if I was tired can take a second before standing it and putting warmers on. Admittedly I don't use warmers in the summer as they may cool the tires in August

Go Baxley. The only thing I wish is they made them to mount on etrack

Seamus what is this discount you speak of?

I have a friend who has the condors and when set up right they seem to work well, mind you I have never had then side by side with a baxley to compare the 2.

Any other products out there I am missing?

Re: Baxley, Condor or Strapless transport stands?

on the Baxleys. I own two. The last one I bought from them was $20.00 off as I recall - they sell "blems" that work great but the finish just isn't quite as pure. Big deal. They get the job done and still look fine to me.

Baxley has both a military discount and a group buy discount. Each are 10% and are not mutually exclusive. A group buy with the military discount gets you 20% off each. I offered it up last year before a track day but noone bit on it. The only thing needed to save on the shipping is to run a chain delivery that will pass on the chock from addict to addict kind of like how SSG got his lift table. Find someone going that way and have them take it with them.

The blemish models 'whip brought up are good deals too. I took a tour of the place last year and the blemishes were almost imperceptible. Most were tiny scratches in the powdercoating. They are definitely perfectionists there.
