New Pitbull gadget
In the endless search for new gadgets and trailer stuff I spotted these
Not exactly sure the whole mechanism (a video would be nice). Also they are bike specific with not Honda apps so But someone needs to get one and let me know how they work

Re: New Pitbull gadget
Flasher2001 had one for his 1000RR. Didn't look exactly like that though; but it was a Pit Bull product if I remember correctly.

Re: New Pitbull gadget
mine is a Strapless Transport stand. STStands.com::: Home of Strapless Transport Stands
similar, i guess. i used mine for one trip to the track and it did a great job!! it's not appropriate to discuss it here, but my 04-07 1000RR stand can be had for a real steal since i will not be using it anymore. PM for details & pix.

Re: New Pitbull gadget
I was just going to post that same link.
I thought about buying some but I'm probably going to just look at one and build my own.

Bought this product and installed it in my molester van last weekend. Super high-quality heavy construction as I've come to expect from Pit Bull, piece-o-cake installation and it works like a hot damn.
The clasps are quick-release removable so you can have multiple mounting locations simply by installing additional base-plates. I aligned it off to the side and at the back of the van, so I just attach the handle, cinch it up to the subframe with the provided bungee, roll up the ramp, drop the handle and it clicks into place. Insert the safety pins and you're off to the races. (literally) It frees up a whole whack of space in the van as you're not tip-toeing over ratchet straps, and surely must be easier on the suspension and tires of the motorcycle. It will make it much less of a pain to bring my 125 with me as well. Bit on the pricey side as you have to pay pretty big for the bespoke axle pins, but the cost of 1 busted foot peg or clip-on from an accidental tip-over would justify it. No matter how well I tie down the bike with conventional straps there is still some risk, especially in a rough-riding 1-ton truck driving over washboard surfaces. Anyone want to buy a Pingel chock?

Maybe we should take a local census for the lawsuit?

Since this is the Pitbull gadget thread, I have some questions from those who own already.
First, the Pitbull website sucks. Period. Question #1 regards the pins for the newfront lift. I saw sheep use his and it made my original Pitbull front stand totally obsolete. Mine is a great stand, but this one is better. Does anyone know if the pins I already have (more than one bike) will fit the newfront stand? My guess is yes, but I'd like verification before ordering. Question #2 regards the transport gizmo. I like the concept, but I don't understand why getting an axle pin is optional, how it is used, why it is needed, and if needed why it wasn't supplied in the first place. So...fire away. |

I agree the site has more content but got a lot harder to navigate.
Not sure which you have on the front stand. If I was buying one I would consider the newfront with a fork converter. That way you have all bases covered. When you order the stand you specify one pin that comes with it, and yes I believe all pins are for all versions. The HGs or Doug have a Trailer Restraint. Again you specify a pin. You can get extra pins but as PhobiaPhobe states they are a bit pricey. As to the site and even these questions I would send them a constructively worded email. At worst they would ignore it but I am betting your feed back would be appreciated. Not only is Pitbull made in the USA it is also a family business. Nice folks that really care

I have the newfront convertible which can hoist by the bottom yoke or the lork legs. Pretty slick.
They should have part numbers on the pins, maybe you can cross-reference with their catalogue? Not sure. The axle pins are definitely needed; they are the mechanism which secures the bike. I suppose they might make it optional in case you had multiple bikes which you would transport individually on separate occasions using the same stand. Kinda weak explanation... I'd like to hear theirs. I guess I'm thinking of a guy like EVL_TWN with a fleet of machines to choose from, but only a 2-bike trailer. He could buy 2 stands and 10 sets of pins. Though I'd think he's the exception, not the norm. ![]() Regardless, their hardware is the best.

Yeah, I was afraid of that. I guess my options are to contact them directly, or buy a 1000rr, but I like my 954 (even moreso with the Dunlop 209s) so I really don't want another bike.
Besides, JetBDude and Paige both like my bike so I don't want to get a different one. |

You can keep it at my house. I'm in your old neck of the woods, anyway. You could just tell her you're borrowing my bike. I promise to keep the dust off of it.

That's a great idea! Sort of...
The generic SWMBO (she who must be obeyed for those not familiar with BBC) might possibly agree...err let me rephase that...would never agree that I have continuing education classes on a weekly basis where we used to live and spawn two children. It would be better if you purchased the 1098 and I came down and used it on the weekends. Let me know what you think about this. |
