    Re: New 2007 Tundra

my 97 f350 had rear drums, and my 03 that i have now has disc, and when pulling the trailer i see a small difference. i personally like the rear disc better, but i am not off roading it either. on the straight axle, i had a gmc with the independent front, and i prefer my straight axle over it.
I am not post whoring, I am providing an abundance of useless opinion.

    Decent review here:

Comparison Test: 2007 Half-Ton Pickup Trucks

It absolutely smokes the 6.0 GM. The Chev seems to have some sort of weird fuel-economy mapping that requires you to keep the accellerator pinned for a full 4 seconds before the full power is unleashed... yet in spite of that (and cylinder deactivation) it still gets much worse mileage than the Tundra.

    Re: New 2007 Tundra

Nice find phobe, now if they can price it under $65,000 it will be a great truck.

Any word on pricing yet? Considering that you can build a 4x4 crew cab TRD TACOMA for the same price as the full size GM I don't think that it will be pretty... but hopefully they will prove me wrong.

    Re: New 2007 Tundra

    Still no friggin pricing.

BTW if you build a colorado or canyon on GM's web site with equivalent features to the Tacoma, it actually costs more than the Toyota... of course once you cash in all your incentives it looks much better... that is until it comes to resale values and you're upside-down as hell.

Should be the same with the new Tundra. It's expected to be priced at par with its domestic competition. The Fords and Dodges will have heavy incentives to make them more attractive but it may take a little while for GM to start dumping their brand new truck.

I took a peak at it when I attended the motorycle show. It looks nice. The front is Dodge-looking. It was a crew cab. My F150 crew cab appears to have more room in the back seats than the new Tundra. I didn't actually climb in it to check for sure, and to see if the front seats were all the way back or not.

You would have seen the "double cab" which is not the biggest cab offered. The Crewmax will come out in late spring and it has a cab 12 inches larger than your F150 crew.

Gawd I wish GM could get it right for once. I like the looks of the new GM truck, but if the performance is what you say and I expect then . Amazing the lengths they take to maintain medocrity. I've actually considered buying a 20 y/o 4x4 Chevy p/u just b/c it seems like good bang for the buck.

Gotcha! Yup, must've been the "doublecab". That Crewmax cab will be really roomy, then, because I find my F150 pretty comfy.

I own an '06 Tundra. I love that truck. HOWEVER - I will not buy another one until they get their heads out of their asses and change the body style. It looks too much like a Dodge Ram and it looks cheap. I do like the HP gains and the torque.

The double cab is kinda like a Dodge quad cab; bigger than an extended cab but not quite as big as a crew, and with real doors. The Crewmax actually has more rear leg room than the Dodge Mega Cab.

Yes the Dodge styling cues are pretty blatant, but you'll probably like it better once you've seen it in person. It's actually a pretty clean design and doesn't seem to look as good in photos.

Canadian pricing was released today, and American dealerships are already taking delivery.

The Canadian Pricing wouldn't do you much good... though I will say that Toyota Canada have stepped up and lowered prices drastically across the board... and that's before you factor in the additional standard equipment.

If you go to Toyota Cars, Trucks, SUVs & Accessories you can build and price your own now.

A good friend of mine from the dealership I used to manage drove one by today-Phobe you will love this truck-and many others will be very jealous. If I was in the market for a pickup this would be it-fortunately my V-8 4Runner can handle all that I need right now

I saw a couple of the new Tundras at the Chicago bike show yesterday. Nice looking truck. They also had some variant of the Tacoma there that was lifted, had larger, more aggressive wheels/tires, and was painted semi-flat green.

You could get a 2WD shortbox regular cab 5.7 to replace your 'Bee.

Sadly the shortbox can't be combined with the reg cab in canada.

And it had a V-8 emblem on the grille right?

I wonder if they stuff the 4.7 into the Tacoma soon

I saw several on the road this weekend as well as being delivered on trucks. I had to do a double take on the first couple that I saw to make sure it wasn't a Dodge.

Much in the same way that the 97 F150 was the benchmark for the original Tundra, the Ram is the benchmark for the new Tundra. Not just in style, but in size and layouts also. I think it's a smart move... the Dodge "Quad Cab" makes for a good compromise of size and room and the new Tundra Double cab takes the same approach.

I don't mind them getting their design cues from the Dodge. I just wish they hadn't put that massive chrome grill on it. The grills on trucks(mainly) these days are getting absolutely hideous.

Agreed, although I really like the front end of the new Silverado. But just as I thought w/ my Ave, the bar through the middle would look tons better color keyed.
