The Trailer Is Functional

After using the new trailer as a moving van, the motorcycle bits are finally installed. It's not exactly a picture of symmetry, but after thinking "outside the box" for a bit we managed to fit three 9ft long VTX's inside.

Still considering floor and ramp options, and we have a wire rack still to be installed that will hold the tie-downs when not in use.

I'd also like to find a BMW Motorcycle and a Honda Banner for the walls. If anyone has an idea about where to find them, let me know.

Thanks for everyone's input!

I've heard of a place called "the internet" where you can find anything. Some people have told me of the wonders of "the Google" too. Haven't tried them myself yet...

Nice trailer, BTW.

Looking good. A bit of paint makes it easier to clean Also I got my cabinets at pitposse also while the black cabinet looks cool go white and chrome as it makes the trailer brighter (my grey floor absorbs a bunch)

The wheel chocks are Bike Pro.

You roll the bike onto them and once they go over-center the backs come up and hold the bike upright so that you can get off and tie it down. Very sturdy and simple design. Got them from Loading Ramps, Hauling, & Transport Superstore - Discount Ramps.com

They are also "quick-release." You just losen the two acorn nuts and the chock slides out, leaving only the black base plate.

For sport bikes, it would probably be worth it to order the $20 small wheel adapters. They are plastic pucks that bolt onto the pivoting part of the chock. I had to order a set for the GS Adv.

Thinking about paint, we'll have to see. I was looking at some industrial rubber no-skid flooring, but they all said that gas or oil would cause damage.

I used outdoor latex paint (had it lying around) and have been surprised on how well it has held up.

DUX, our trailer guy recommended spray-on bedliner, the same stuff that's used in pick-up trucks. We've had it for 5 years with no issues whatsoever. We've 'tested' it, unintentionally with gas drippings too and no problems. The gas only pooled and didn't seep anywhere...it was sitting for 3 hrs too. It's easy to clean up and wash...spray and scrub with a deck brush and it's good to go. You can't do that with paint or vinyl tile. The guys sprayed it directly on the wood floor and up the side wall about 12" so that the floor/wall corner joins are sealed nicely.

If I ever got antoher trailer, I'd get it put on again. The only issue is when the ramp gets wet it's slippery. I guess you'll have that even if the ramp is uncoated wood or any other coatingl. BUT.....we remedied that with the stick on tread tape and haven't had any problems since. Everyone that saw our trailer at Grattan can attest to the sturdiness of the floor coating.
