Enclosed 6? Wide All the trailers shown here are in stock & ready for immediate delivery. These are the prices out the door. NO freight. NO dealer fees. NO sales tax collected !

I am thinking of going for the one with at least the electric brakes though.
What type of payload do you plan on hauling, what are you going to haul it behind, and over what type of roads will you be hauling? IMHO, the load limits of a single axle trailer of this size make (trailer) brakes pretty much unnecessary.

The one I was looking at (and still am) was a 6x12 single axle, side door, and a drop-down rear door, but it didn't have the V-nose. Still plenty of room for 2 bikes and gear. I think I could have that one for about $2700 (from this place).

except with a place a little closer to me
How about this: You complete the deal, I'll pick it up for you, then haul it down to you ... on the first decent weekend of riding in your area ... which means, of course, my bike would be IN the trailer when I brought it down ... LOL.

Good luck. I was planning on picking up a nice enclosed setup as part of my contribution to economic stimulus a couple months ago, but when the fridge took a crap back in October, I got talked into replacing all four kitchen appliances. Hell, I spent almost as much on the fricking fridge alone as I would have on a nice enclosed trailer! :-(

    Maybe next year ...

Well the funding has arrived, ahhh . Although I don't think my original plan is going to materialize, so I may be back in the hunt. On the plus side, I just re-read the entire thread as a refresher, so thanks for the advice again y'all....lots in here to chew on

Since the start of the thread, I do have a (tekonsha) prodigy brake controller with a direct connect kit for the Pilot all ready to go, but I am shocked at the fact that not many of the lighter trailers leave the shop with brakes.

    wdgah-

My basic goals are somewhere from 5x7W to 10-12L, really depends what I find. Planning on towing a 1000rr w/gear but would like the ability to stick the GS and 1000rr in there or (2) bikes total. This summer I'll also be putting all our luggage and coolers, etc. in there for the Grattan travels and any trackdays (gonna try to do a couple before Grattan). Due to the wussiness of the tow vehicle, I want an AL frame trailer as opposed to steel just so I can get as effiicent as possible.

My immediate goal is I need to get my bike up to the shock shop in the next couple weeks and leave it there for him to mess with at will. I also have a fair amount of material left over from the deck project that I need to rehome once the snow melts.

Funny you brought this up the exact same time I PM'd you. Sounds like you are in the same boat as I am. I've pretty much come to the conclusion that you need a 6 foot wide trailer to put 2 bikes in there side by side. I want that option as well. I've also been told you can't get an all aluminum trailer in a 10 foot length. Well, at least in your common brands..

    Heh...oh the irony

Yeah, 6, 6.5 would do, 7 is best.

As for the 10' thing....here are 4 that I was looking at that had that:
    www.snoprotrailers.com (click Stealth)
    Mission Trailers
All Aluminum Trailers - Enclosed Trailer & Open Trailers by Legend Manufacturing Inc.
www.nhtrailers.com <-- not a 'big brand' but really nice stuff.

These guys have the Legend AL trailers in 10' and above...and some good pricing on them in their specials section too.
Becks Custom Coach & Trailer - Open Trailers, Enclosed Trailers, Motorhome, Garagecoach, Custom Trailers and Toterhome

Also a company called worthington who makes all AL stuff....a little funky looking though, but quality.

Legends are about an hour from me and are definately the way to go for a single guy. I think Becks are pretty nice also.

Agree with going 6 foot wide if you think you'll tow more than one bike. That is, as long as your tow vehicle can handle it. Not surprised about the brake thing...they don't become mandatory until you're up to 7x14, but I would still get them on a 6x10 or 6x12 enclosed. Peace of mind.
