I wouldn't consider the Baxley chock "strapless", you'd still need straps as security. I think by strapless, they mean those Pitbull ones that attach to the rear axle, or the other strapless system that RedRider has, the brand is escaping me at the moment.
Edit: I read further and see that you know the Baxleys aren't strapless...carry on!

Age of bike + rider = 78 !!
If you use a Baxley, the number and mission of the straps is much reduced. Basically, I use one to lock the wheel into the stand, and a couple (from above) to keep them from swaying into each other.

Jeezus, I'm not even here to defend myself...
Ok, here is my take on things.
I LOVE the ridgeline, I haul my aluminum 7x15 v nose with it to the track and I have loaded it with 3 guys, gear and bikes. the ridgeline handled it like a champ. Hardly squated the back at all. Loading the trailer is a big part of how well things travel(loading the driver once your parked is even better )
I do find that the mileage does go from a normal 24-26mpg on the highway to that of a "normal" truck on the road with the trailer on and the tank can be a little small, but other than that it really does pull things along pretty well.
Windy days can be a major pain though, I find myself drafting larger trucks for a bit to help mileage and drop the RPMS a bit.
I thought about the dual axle for that trailer, and really the only reason I didn't do it is because I would then require an annual inspection on it. but as I mentioned I have not had any issues with the tongue weight as it is.
any questions I am more than happy to answer them if I can, but I won't have internet for a while until we get it set up at the new house. drop me an e-mail at rob.holmes@hydroone.com I figure that is the least I can do after you helped me pick out the truck in the first place

Here you go SSG: Motorcycle trailer
You can get it on your way to Jennings for New Year's.

I have access to a Pace American "WorkSport" series 6 x 12 trailer.
I've towed it behind my fathers F150 with a 4.2l V6 and his new Jeep liberty with a 3.7l V6.
It tows just "fine" with both. and boy, I've had a TON of stuff in it.
gas milage goes down, and you have to downshift for hills and stuff out here in MA. But i never felt like the truck was worse for it all.

Any time.
It's not that bad... the only problem I find is the limited range can be an issue. 350-400kms at best with the trailer.
Other than that she's aces

Did you know he sold the Ridgeline for a civic?
Think he is going to trailer with the wife's pilot now.

Must have missed that. I would think that the pilot would be as well suited as any... same drive train I think.

Now with custom avatar.
The plan never was to tow with the Ridgeline I don't think either a 2500HD dmax/allison, Tundra, or the Pilot...but I figured if the Pilot could - than it would be childs play to anything else.
I am just going to continue counting my pennies for awhile, till I have a good collection - then I will get something very similar to what Northern has. The nice part about towing with a Pilot is that due to the shape, most of the wind won't have the dip of the truck bed to get lost in, and hopefully if I can maintain profile - it should be a little more aero friendly.
...or something.

Finally went looking a couple weeks ago, discovered the really nice 6.5x12 v-nose, aluminum, CargoPro I really want is about 6500$.
The regular Aluminum "Stealth" version in 6.5x10 is about 4500$
Neither has brakes on it on the lot, and they insist on ordering them from the factory that way, so looking at a month or so wait.
I'm still contemplating what to do, the guy actually said since Im not planning on maxing the GVWR of the trailer anyways I could save money and go with the steel trailer and not notice much of a difference in MPG. He did state that the 6k$ model (which has a 12" slanted and 28" V-nosed front) would be the most efficient towing and of course, best handling than all the others.
The others only had 14-16" v's on them, so a very subtle v.
I sort of thought "ok screw this, maybe an open trailer is in my future..." but the cost is close enough to me that I still would just end up going enclosed.
As the salesman said to me "well if you're looking to save money, no one has ever saved money buying a trailer. If you want to buy what you NEED now but are planning on towing for long distances, you'd be better to just buy what you WANT now and save yourself the time and effort of selling the one you bought to suit your need after your long trip is over."
Also, having been without a truck in the household for the past couple months has certainly helped us find other ways to do things...but I am still fighting with myself if I would use a trailer enough to justify keeping a huge enclosed sitting around the house.

Seems to me that something like this would be right up your alley, SSG, and half the price.
6 X 12 Black single axle Enclosed Trailer
This is actually a brand new trailer from a legitimate, brick-and-mortar trailer dealer. I've stopped/looked/priced trailers there a couple of times, as most recently as a couple months ago. They have been around a long time, and are pretty good people.

Thanks! Thats sort of what I am leaning on at this point, except with a place a little closer to me
Enclosed 6? Wide All the trailers shown here are in stock & ready for immediate delivery. These are the prices out the door. NO freight. NO dealer fees. NO sales tax collected !
I am thinking of going for the one with at least the electric brakes though.
