Any mini toy haulers out there? (under 2,000lbs)

(Edit: I just found a hitch that will go 350/3,500! Woo!)

    Pipe dream, right?

My car can easily pull a teardrop or even two full dress cruisers on a utility trailer. Are there any really cozy toy haulers out there, or are they all too heavy? I'm allowed 200lbs tongue weight and 2000lbs total weight.

    Thanks,
    Dan

2000 pound TOTAL ain't much. It only leaves you with around 1500 pound for the trailer.... An aluminium enclose trailer is pretty much your only option I think.

Mine is one of the smallest I've seen and it's 3000 to 3500 loaded.

With a car the huge surface area and drag of a toy hauler will probably be even more of a factor than the weight.
...dude you ride an offroad bike with slicks, 1/2 the weight of a GS, double the suspension, with a browning 50 cal going off 32" from your skull as a daily freaking driver - I'd expect anything except a nitro dragbike to be bland by comparison - SSG

I didn't mention the car because some folks can't grasp that this particular platform can be an excellent tow vehicle.

It's a 2000 Corvette FRC(Z06 body style) with the six speed and lots of mods. Torque isn't even remotely a problem. One of the guys on the main forum has towed a pair of full dress cruisers 2600 miles and averaged 22mpg.

I have the Draw-Tite hitch waiting to be installed, and that is rated for the 200/2000 I mentioned.

I was figuring at the very least, I would be getting some kind of vnose, I know a 5x8 would be nothing, but I really want a bed/shower/AC.

Oh hell, I just found a company offering a 350/3,500 lb. hitch. Woohoo!

I'm gonna laugh my ass off if my car ends up being a better hauler than the wife's Exploder.

The C5 is a full frame vehicle.

    Thanks for the thought though.

Update - seems the bigger hitch kit I found is no longer being made. Damn.

I would think the weight of the car itself is the detriment.

Does Chevy publish tow ratings for the 'vette? I suspect the mini-sized uHaul enclosed trailer is about the right size...

I have seen smaller vehicles pulling bikes but usually on open trailers. Even saw an Audi TT hitched and loaded...

That is more along the lines of what I was thinking. I mean my s-10 doesn't even pull a 5x8 enclosed loaded very well. Why not just buy a cheap truck?

No. Doubt you could even find an enclosed trailer to meet those specs.

I think if the trailer weight can be kept in the 1500-2000 pound range, it should be ok.

The uHaul I was thinking of is a 4x6 IIRC. Should be right in that range when loaded.
