But the general rule of thumb is that BMW has reliability issue, and even when they don't - if you're not going to DIY, it'll be costly to fix.
So... nyah nyah.
As long as you sell it before 100K or 5 years, it costs exactly ZERO dollars to fix. They replace brake rotors and windshield wipers under warranty even at 80K with the CPO warranty.

Re: Another comparison Acura VS BMW
I have an 04 BMW and a 99 Acura. The BMW costs me nothing but gas and tires. Everything is included...oil changes, repairs, state inspections, washer fluid, etc...I think that is on all new BMWS. I love the Acura but it doesnt drive like the BMW. If you get the BMW get rid of it before the warranty expires...if you get the Acura...get the new Type S.

Re: Another comparison Acura VS BMW
I can pick up a 2006 acura TL type S for $46K with 0.8% financing over 60 months.
This may be an option. I miss having my prelude but I am pretty sure that this would do.
Mind you I keep coming back to the Ridgeline.
See you at GRATTAN

Done.
Re: Another comparison Acura VS BMW
Just don't get to the point where you've test driven so many different vehicles and bought what you thought you wanted after getting frustrated to the point of buying just to buy, only to find out after having it for a week that it was a nail and you hated it completely.
I know a guy that happened to once.
But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government.

Ah dang it, just get the new Gof GTI and be done with it. I swore I would never buy another Golf, but after talking to friends, it'd be the only car I'd realistically want.
Okay, well an S2000 is gonna happen sometime for me.... even if it's only in my dream.

Hmmm, my wife's 2001 330i is at the dealer as we speak. Problem with the turn signals, and I suspect it is the beginning of controller problem. Second time in. They tell me bulbs and some related components are not covered under our CPO. Also anything electrical that has corrosion.

Hmmm...maybe its the dealer...from what I understand everything is covered...or maybe I could be wrong...either way my dealer is great. Fixed a part on the suspension that I damaged hitting a pothole even after he knew it was my fault.

They replaced the lower air dam on both of our 325s (twice on one) at no cost after "the girls" kept hitting the parking lot concrete stoppers with them. The corrosion comment is interesting, since if the car is properly serviced, it shouldn't be subject to corrosion (so the onus should be on them).
Never had a bulb burn out except for one taillight on my daughters 323. It cost $1.79 at the local NAPA store . . .

My dealer alone makes me want to own another BMW. I have to admit it was in the shop 3 times in one month for different things but the way I was treated I didnt even mind that much.

Re: Another comparison Acura VS BMW
Good to know about the services at the dealers.
I am affraid that the dealers south here only "relate" to the city types that can "afford" a BMW...
I am starting to think that it is just me, I have a lot of bad experiances with dealers, Maybe I just expect too much from them?
The local acura dealer has been the best to date.
Mind you a connection that works at a honda dealership 2.5 hours from here will be getting a call when everything falls into place. If I can knock 2-3 grand off the ridgeline I may just "have to" go that route.
Have to say that as far as cars go... the Acura is pulling ahead slightly just because they are a better shop and the car seems to fit me?

Yeah, my wife's 325 had a wind noise issue on the drivers window and they ended up taking nearly 3 weeks to find and repair the problem (complete new door with all the trimmings @ 51K miles). I would have been really pissed except for the brand new 540 they gave us for a loaner which she ended up putting about 7K on in just over 24 days . . . They even brought the 540 out to the house when they picked up her car and then delivered her 325 when it was finished (45 miles each way).
