    Harbor Freight Trailer

    Myself and a few buddies recently bought two Harbor Freight folding trailers to haul our bikes down to VIR. Does anyone have and first hand experience with them? Advice??

    My friend bought the bigger one of their trailers. I can't remember the exact one other than it was possible to go a size smaller than his. For the price it seemed pretty good. He needed something to tow his bike from Iowa to Idaho and picked it up while it was on sale for about $300. His had the 12" tires which seems to me to be a way better option than the 8" tires.
    ...dude you ride an offroad bike with slicks, 1/2 the weight of a GS, double the suspension, with a browning 50 cal going off 32" from your skull as a daily freaking driver - I'd expect anything except a nitro dragbike to be bland by comparison - SSG

    8" tires? I'd avoid going on the freeway with tires that small. They will probably heat up pretty quickly and probably blow out.

    No, but I love the bike listed in your sig! I had one of those but sold it last year. It's probably the only bike I've ever sold that I miss!

    I agree about the wheel size. The 12" wheels, or larger, will be much better.

    I had one and it did not hold up too well. Of course I was using it to haul a 2 man boat behind a lifted CJ7 across rocks and mud in some pretty rough terrain to get to some good fishing spots in an old coal mine. I actually tore the axle off of it on one trip. But for road use they should hold up well.
    Amateurs practices until they get it right. A professional practices until they can't get it wrong.

    Depending on how far you're hauling them each way, you may want to upgrade to 12" tires as was noted above.

    Update: It was myself who purchased the Harbor Freight Trailer... so far it's been to VIR / Back and around Boston to NH (Loudon) many times... has been a great trailer. Currently setup w/ Pingle chocks for 1 or 2 bikes and tows like a dream.

    Rattly as hell w/o anything on it though!

    Put one together a couple winters ago and i'm sure some of you have seen it at the track being pulled by my brother (got the Ram after i put it together so he used it more the last couple years). Been to Grattan several times and to Autobahn with 2 bikes once. the one i got has the 12" wheels and i packed the hubs with semi-synthetic grease. No issues except loosing a license plate somehow.

    It's set up for 1 bike or 2 using condor stands.

    I saw it when Linus was at Grattan with us a couple weeks ago. Looked like a nice set up, but the Condor sticks to the front tire like glue!
