Oh dear.
Normally I'd advise against such foolishness...but with prices and interest rates, and government incentives as they are...it's probably worth selling bikes to get in right now.

Just saw this thread and am definitely thinking I'd like to join in for this trip . The first weekend doesn't work for me but the second one does. I just recently picked up a Triumph Sprint ST and this would be a wonderful first long weekend to take it on. Please keep me in the loop as this gets closer.

Veni Vidi Vici !!
I'm still planning on it.
I think the second weekend will work out a little better for me but I'm planning on doing a Monday trackday on the 24th...then GRADUATION on the 29th

I actually voted for a date. However, I don't know that I can make too long of a haul. Arkansas might be out of my range.

Oh the memories
Not sure I'll be getting a kitchen pass (BJG's term) only 2 weeks after the sister-in-law leaves the wife and I alone with the 2 food processing machines. But I won't rule it out. I'll be watching and hoping

Sun - An epic trace through Arkansas and back up through Southern Missouri to Park Hills. Dinner with the Addicts.
Mon - Journey homeward.
While I am most likely going to stay in Park Hills for the duration, I would be more than happy to help with trip planning if there is a group that is interested in this option...
Are you considering something along the lines of this option or are you committed to the trailer?

I used to live in Reeds Spring, MO, which is between Branson and Springfield - about 200 miles S/SW of Park Hill. My Aunt and Uncle still live there, and my Mom is buried there, too (lost her when I was 15).
Anyways ... not sure if you have been to the SW area of MO, but Table Rock Lake runs all through that area. Some of the most gorgeous scenery in SW Missouri can be found there, and the roads are pretty darn nice, too. Bull Shoals is part of the entire mess, but it's off to the east. Table Rock Lake is off to the west:

The Bull Shoals area is, of course, home to the MSTA's annual Ozark BS Rally.
For those of you who were on the Honda VF/VFR Mailing List back in the early 00's, you might remember a hooligan named Brandon Monnig who was from that area. He moved to CA, but I believe he moved back to MO not long ago. I will hit him up on FB to see if he's interested in meeting up with a few old VFR listers.
Oh, yea ... I'm in for either date (or any thereabouts), as long as something else doesn't come up as spring arrives.

You and Brandon are from the same area? That explains everything...

Still too early to decide for me....I probably won't really know until the cast of characters starts to shape up and we know who needs a tow etc... Sorry, I realize that was of no help...
If it's cabin fever you seek treatment for, come down and pull the forks off my VFR please...there's beer in the fridge, turn the lights out when you leave...

I'm coming from a different direction but I'll probably be towing down there and doing more of a base camp type thing due to my lack of luggage.

No worries.
However, you might be surprised (disappointed) what you find among the empty beer cans when you turn the garage light back on
You still slugging around on a clapped-out rear shock?

Nope. Other than a couple years in MO and 7 years down in TX, I was born, raised, and have lived in MI all my life.

Now that you mention that, other than the 26 years I lived in Spain, a short period in northern Africa, and a few months here and there in non-Spanish territories, I lived my whole life in the U.S. of A.

I've only lived 1/6 of my life outside of MI. In order for your situation to be similar, you'd have to be ... ohhh ... about 162 years old.

I guess I misunderstood you when you said "all my life". But I see your point.

Are we committed to a time and place yet?
If past Spring flings are any indicator, then there's a 90% chance of there being a get-together on the weekend of May 22-23...somewhere...probably Ozarks...maybe...
The smell-0-meter is still saying Ozarks, but it breaks down like this... The date is usually kept reasonably firm so people can make plans. The location generally is too, but it's not unknown to move the venue if the Weather Channel Green Blobs invade the area in question. As a last resort, we'll push off the date...

You'd do it for Randolph Scott!
I might be in on this if you don't mind waiting up at the intersections for a little v-twin to catch up.

Could be looking a little "iffy" for me. Schedule will be shaping up in the next couple of weeks but it's trending towards a miss.

Bittersweet. I'm out.
Details of a personal and business nature to follow in the coming weeks. Yes - it's a good thing.

Getting close, time for a quick check...
Please chime in if you are interested in the Ozarks on May 22-23....

Still in - What are we going to do if the weather the week prior is spectacular? Anyone know how to say "Carpe Weekend" in Latin?
