safety wiring?
Although it's not required, I like to wire my oil drain plug, filler, and filter. On the Honda, there was a nice little tab by the drain plug that I drilled a hole through to anchor it. Nothing like that on the Suzuki. Anyone have any suggestions as to where to anchor it? I'm not seeing anything obvious, although I'm sure I'll find something.
Draining coolant? On my Honda, I just pulled off the large lower hose located on rider's left, toward the rear. Can I drain the gixxer the same way? Got a factory service manual on order!

Re: safety wiring?
One of the screws that holds your water pump to the case is actually the drain plug... usually it's the lowest one. Should be the same as Purpdust's 750 which we drained before Grattan '06. Don't forget to crack open the rad cap to let air move through.

Re: safety wiring?
Thanks, I'll check that out. Sounds easier than pulling the hose off.

Re: safety wiring?
Careful with the bolt. It should have a copper washer on it.
You should be able to reuse it but it's always good to have an extra on hand just in case.

Re: safety wiring?
Strange that you don't have a tab close to the drain plug. The SV has one.

Re: safety wiring?
Yeah, I was surprised, given that it's basically easier than the Honda to prep for trackdays. I'll have to look again, but I didn't see anything close. I don't want to drill bolts, as I'm planning on getting the Ed Bargy kit, but perhaps I could get some of those safety wire "tang" washers or something.

Re: safety wiring?
My SV doesn't have a tab..
I drilled through a hollow casting feature nearby for an anchor. Also, there are a whole bunch of bolts that open to the oil galleys on the SV, so I safety wired a lot of stuff.
