B-King?

Maybe it's just me, but is anyone else surprised that Suzuki's marketing department approved this name for North American use?

I'm not sure what market they are going for, but this is one case where the name alone would keep me from buying it.

Re: B-King?

I think it's ugly, but I'll wait to pass judgment until I see some of the aftermarket exhaust for it.

Re: B-King?

If I remember right, the original prototype was turbocharged and the name was Boost King. They took away the turbo and now its fast food.

Re: B-King?

I keep checking back for when someone is going to photoshop the "king" onto a front view of the B-King.

I couldn't find a direct front view, but this is close to get you PS gurus going

Re: B-King?

I think the stunnas and half helmit crowd are gonna love the name. I uh kinda like it too. At least suzuki is coming out with some neat products with some advanced tech.

Most of the other bike manufacturers don't seem to come out with neat products like this.

I only ride a honda cause the nicest people ride hondas

Got to ride "The Whopper" for a couple hours yesterday...

Strange bike. Fast, and with good brakes, but not a sportbike. More of a muscle-bike. I threw it into some cloverleafs and found the handling to be sketchy at best. Maybe it could be sorted with some suspension setup, but it weaved and wobbled and wouldn't hold a line. She's a big girl too... looking down at the huge tank and "scoops" reminded me of when I pedaled around a "deepfreeze on wheels" Dickie-Dee ice-cream cart in the summer when I was 12. That fcuking thing weighed a ton and had only one speed, and I made crap money.... Damn I hated that job.

The motor is awesome, but not really exciting. Lots of torque, on demand, any gear, any speed, but the power was very linear with no "hit" and just felt sort of unimpressive. What looks like a humungous tank is actually pretty small. The sales guy said it only holds about 12 litres, so range is very limited.

I kept wondering, "what would I use this thing for?"... It's big and powerful, but doesn't have the wind protection or range for any touring. I expected big dirty power wheelies, but the front never came up even at full throttle in first... so it doesn't make for much of a hooligan bike either. The seating position is nice, with a big wide handlebar and nicely situated pegs, but the saddle is shite and was an uncomfortable distraction after only 15 minutes or so. I suppose it would do well on the dragstrip, but not as well as a 'Busa. As a collector's item and a piece of rolling mechanical Manga it's great, but other than that it's a bit of a pointless motorcycle.

It was a fun date but I wouldn't be interested in a relationship.

I still think it's ugly but the power curves are nice.
