One More Under the Gixxer Spell!
Since it has been sighted at Grattan I guess I should fill in the details about my new baby.
As I was getting ready to go to Grattan I became more concerned about using the FJR as my main track bike there (though it did make a cameo appearance ). I pored over all the forums for a reasonably priced track bike in the 600-750cc range. Just as I was about to commit on an R6, I found this bike. It was right on the way to Mich, near Atlanta. I contacted Crusty9r and we struck a deal. It is always a bit "exciting" buying something like this you don't know much about from someone you have never met, but the bike has lived up to everything he said and more! Thanks It was great to ride a track prepped bike and not have to wonder about about it's capabilities, just concentrate on riding. Also, I was glad I was not riding a pristine street bike .Specs: 2001 GSX-R 750 former Pennzoil race bike Sharkskinz body work Vortec rearsets and clip-ons Powercommander full Titanium Leo Vance system fresh superbike spec motor (YEAH BABY!!! )520 chain Penske shock Thermosman forks Damper that I can't find a brand on. More I can't remember, feel free to fill in if you want, Crusty. I love this bike! I have wanted a GSX-R 750 since they came out in 1986 (I think). I will replace a few parts, get the suspension set for my weight, and personalize the paint job. I will post more pics when I have a better connection.

Now you tell me all this...
Sounds like a really nice bike. That's how you were going that fast, I knew it wasn't the skill of the rider... J/K. Awesome bike for an awsome guy.

Re: One More Under the Gixxer Spell!
I made the first post in this thread on an aircard without much signal.
I will try the pics again... First one before I picked it up. Second with my son !Three and four in action.

And one to prove that point...

Re: One More Under the Gixxer Spell!
that bike does have some giddy up. it matched me mph for mph down the straight. I was cursing that thing for 2 days wondering how I couldn't get past it under power then he told me it was a former Pennzoil bike and I cursed that thing some more.

Nice bike, btw. I briefly had an '04 750, and it was great - Light, and nearly as quick as my 929. Of course my motor was stock, so yours was even faster. Good job all around. |

Re: One More Under the Gixxer Spell!
Uh details... It's yellow and it makes straightaways really short... The valving on the forks and shock will need a little tweeking for you but you should not have to buy springs. I'd try getting the setup(ride height, sag, etc.) right and play with the knobs before I started dropping coin on it. There is a pretty good range on both ends and you can probably get close suspensionwise with what has been done already. It looks like it had different tires(Dunlops?) from what it was set up with(Michelin Power Race). If they were street tires, it might explain the ahem problems ahem you had. That bike is set up to ride on it's nose. BTW you may want to put some ater wetter in it. When I flushed the Winter antifreeze out, I didn't have any. It's not distilled water in it either. It is however Brita water though.
Cancel that< it"s PURI can provide details for the stablemate for this bike if anyone is looking for a quite less than pristine version of it. Same suspension work but with a "plain jane" Penske(not the triple clicker Dale got) shock. Rough all around and needs some TLC but comes with the same monster HP(138 vs Leelovers 140). It last led life as a 17 y/o's first trackbike but has the identical pedigree. Could probably use a frame but was easier to ride fast than Leelovers. It was leading a Bargy Mock race when it spit(more like projectile vomiting) the rider off at speed. Did a little skittering at Jennings too. Located in Louisville, KY. Would even be a GREAT rolling spares kit if you had a 01-03 already

Re: One More Under the Gixxer Spell!
Congrats, Leelover, that looks a great track bike. Glad you got to terms with it without injury...
