06 GSXR1000 Engine Noise??

One of my riding buddies just picked up a 06 GSXR1000 Friday and rode it up to bike night all was good. He also owns a GSXR750 that he is going to convert to a track only bike now that he got the 1000. Yesterday he was riding around and he said that it sounded like the chain came off all kind of engine noise and he got worried. He is still under the break in for the bike and immediatly shut it off and got it back to the house. Now he says it has an oil stain under the bike. The oil window looks clean not milky and he doesn't see any leaks. He thinks it is dripping oil or something from the overflow hoses on the bottom?? Any input would be great either way he is calling the dealership Tuesday since they are closed on Monday. Any Ideas I told him about how the 954's were loud under the tank but i don't know anyone else with a GSXR1000. He said his 750 didn't have any of these problems during its break in period.

thanks in advance for all the input....

Typically, the three hoses are for coolant, battery, and gasoline venting - overflow.
Obviously something changed in the operation of the motor. He should get it in to his mechanic asap without starting it.

Re: 06 GSXR1000 Engine Noise??

Well good news what he thought to be oil disappeared overnight...chock it up to inexperience? Anyway he has be out on the bike and its doing fine. They only thing he can think of is that maybe he foot was on the gearshift and he didn't realize it? Odd but seems all is good everything seems to be in order...he did call the Mfg and they said they would replace it at the dealership if there was a problem. I told him to take it in just to make sure but it seems like it's all good.

Thanks everyone for the advice
