Well I finally found what I was looking for and brought it home this past weekend. Ever since I started riding on the track I've told myself that I wanted to get a dedicated track bike. After a ton of thinking about what I wanted and what would work best for me I decided to look for an SV650. I wasn't looking too hard when I found this one. It's been sitting in someones garage for the last 2 years and hasn't been ridden since late in 2007. It needs a whole lot of TLC but after draining the old gas out of it and putting a couple of new plugs in it (they were fouled after being run on the old gas by the seller) the bike started right up and purred. As I said it really needs some TLC but the overall package is sound plus I have all winter to do the work. Any advice from people that have owned one of these would be appreciated, I know there are a few of them on here. I'm really looking forward to getting it on the track in the spring and bringing it to the MCADX days in June. Anyway, here's some pictures.
Ever since I rode CBRVFRTZRRCTOYSRUS's SV, I have been convinced that they're the perfect bikes for riders like me. Set it and forget it. Ride it.
Very nice specimen.

Any work done to it? They are fun bike for sure, but if you really wanted to get down with them, I've seen a GSX-R front end swap and a Kawi 10R (I think) rear shock swap and those things are even MORE fun!
We'll be looking forward to your first track ride report with it.
Today's public figures can no longer write their own speeches or books, and there is some evidence that they can't read them either.

The guy I bought it from really didn't know that much about it. He bought it from a guy in Alabama and intended to race it in 2008. Shortly after he got it home life happened and he had to park it in his garage. He had never ridden it except up and down the street a couple of times right after he got it.
The engine appears to be stock, doesn't look like anything has ever been apart on it. It does have the following mods done to it.
Penske double clicker rear shock
M4 Full Exhaust
K&N Airfilter
Woodcraft rearsets
Aftermarket clip ons (not sure what brand)
Vortex Sprockets (came with multiple sprockets)
GPR Steering Damper
I also know that the forks have been gone thru but I'm not sure if they were just revalved or if they actually have cartridge emulators in them.
This is the guy that actually raced the bike in AL. I'm trying to track him down so that I can ask him a few questions about the bike.
