Re: Suzuki riders...

I got a GSXR1000K4 and I'm looooving it. It's all tucked away for the winter.

I've ridden twins since for the longest time until I got my 954 in 2002, then I got hooked on the power...hehe...

My friend has an SV, I heard the stock suspension needs tweaking (or replacing). Is that true?

Yeah, it's shockingly "plush." First year I had it resprung and used heavier and more oil. Last year, I swapped the front end off a '99 gsxr 750. It's a very nice upgrade, and the brakes are now quite substantial.. 6 pot tokicos on 330 mm disks.

That and an Ohlins shock and a re-jet kit for the Yosh full system, woodcraft rearsets. -1 gearing up front, slicks, and a few minor mods has made me a bit of a pest on the track for some of my literbike buddies.

Maybe the cam swap this winter ( using cams from the newer generation SV) and my planned excursion to Kevin Schwantz Suzuli school in May will really piss 'em off.

I loved the power of my 954, but I was never going to learn anything on it.. way too much bike for my brain.

Re: Suzuki riders...

..or a future Suzuki owner. The Hondagals were quite impressed with the GSXR6's

I don't know if that will entail a legal name change..

No, it won't, because even if I do get a Suk, I'll still have the Honda. And the Ducati. You know, I'm a HondaGal TOO.

Haha, I hear that. I always thought if I got a track only 600, it'd be the Honda. Then I rode the Gix. To be fair, I haven't ridden the 600rr. I'd like to, so I can see which one I really like. Just sitting on them, though, the Suk does seem to fit me better.

There's no reason to discriminate by manufacturer anymore Gal. This new site is agnostic.

Yup, so now I feel compelled to own one of each marque. LOL.

2003 SV650S
  • Full system M4 exhaust
  • Woodcraft rearsets
  • Hotbodies (hey, it worked okay) bodywork
  • Scotts (again, it worked fine) steering damper
  • Forks resprung and cartridge emulators installed by Lithium Motorsports
  • Penske double-clicker shock
  • Vesrah brake pads
  • Galfer steel-braided lines
  • That's about it. Put gas in it and go!

Re: Suzuki riders...

My Suzuki, a photo of which is in the link below in my signature, is one of the most fun bikes I've ever ridden. Cheap, forgiving, and fun, it's just an awesome play bike. If I get more serious about supermoto, I'd probably upgrade, but for now it's just a hoot to zip around on.
