Simson/HRD 125 SM Info Needed
Hi All,
I've searched but only seem to come up with side references or used bikes for sale. So I'm turning to the lists diverse patrons for some help. Some time ago I purchased a Simson 125 SM that won't start. Unfortunately, I can't find enough information to trouble shoot the issue. Everything seems to check out up to the electronic modules, but I'd like to be sure before trying to find odd parts. My model is a Simson, but has HRD (French maker?) written all over it, using a Motorini Morini Franco engine. (this one: Morini Motori) Sherco apparently bought out Simson and swapped to a Yamaha motor, but can't find anything on my configuration. Any help is much appreciated. Found this website that seems to have more information on the company, but I can't read it. Simson 125 SM

Wish I could help.
I have nine days to get my Polini to start so I can race seamus, but I think you and I both might have a nice paperweight. Good luck! |

single cylinder, 4 stroke motor 125cc 8.5 kW @ 8500 rpm 6 speed front brakes are 280mm, rear 220mm (both hydraulic) edit: on the homepage, there's a phone number you can call. Radebeul is in the suburbs of Dresden so they're almost guaranteed to speak English if you ask. edit2: I'll send them an email. They're probably closed already today so don't expect a response until Monday. edit3: If I don't get an answer on Monday morning I might be able to call them.

CBRVFR has been on me for what seems like years to get that thing going so I can bring it to Grattan. Thought a last minute effort might be worthwhile. With a whopping 12.6 HP at the rear wheel (from one of the tech sites, 14.4 at the crank) Grattan might also be its demise, but should be fun getting there.
