Motard teaser pics **UPDATED**

Well I never really did introduce my new bike.
2003 CRF450R which I should have converted to a motard in the next few weeks.

It has seen it fair share of riding, but I plan on riding at a few track days this summer and then working on it(again) this coming W*****(I'm not going to even think about that yet)

My plans are not really to make is street legal as I would be with out my license within the first week of riding, but more to make a dependable track day toy that I can screw around on and have fun with.

got the bike for a pretty good deal, parts are suprisingly cheap as long as they are for a dirt bike and ANYTHING supermoto, you will pay out the a$$ for. But it all sure looks nice.

Anyway, here are a few pics of how it is sitting now. I should be working on it today for a while and will hopefully get things right on it. Tires should be here early next week so I can finish the brakes and making the chain. But for now, I am going to put it back together, change the oil and flush the coolant.

I also just threw one of the 1KRR in there too, why not. still need a few more sands and then some paint but I am a LOT closer than I was 2 months ago.

You should get a little big bigger front rotor on the crf and a little bit longer rear brake line on the cbr.

If you're getting the crf to screw around on, just remember, don't do into the wind.

Just kidding dude, I'm jealous.

I was going to switch the rear brake to an underslung carrier like the GSX-R's use but I changed my mind, I'll likely either change that line again or just zip tie it to something as having the extra length really helps with the tire changes.

I figure that rotor "should"() stop me OK...

Motard will be ready to go by end of the coming week depending on when I get the tires for it. I am just repacking the exhaust on the motard right now and then it will be an oil change, new chain and throw the rest of the body work on(5 minute job) and go for a rip...

1000RR is ready other than a rear wheel spacer. The body work all fits, it's just not pretty yet... I am fine with riding a half sanded bike... hahahaha I shouldn't be but I am...

Worst case scenario is I have to dump the coolant out of the VFR, remove the peg feelers and bring it with us to grattan too... Look out FJR1300 here I come.

Ok a few things left and I should be DONE.
install Cam chain tensioner
break and install chain
rivet the rest of the exhaust
Flush coolant.

then she's ready for the track.

Had it running tonight after having the head freshend up with new valves and man what a difference, I could hardly start it, it was SO hard to kick.

anyway, here are the pics.

You shouldn't tease motards. They didn't choose to be motarded.

The bike looks awesome . I'll get one soon, I hope.

You might have some issues with the front fender bending backwards at speed I'd think. Isn't that why they use those short ones for SM?

I may end up changing a few things yet on it. the front # plate they sent is a POS... big time.
I have a set of lights for it with a # plate built in and looks great, as well as a magneto but I am affraid that if I put that all in there I will want signals a horn and a license plate...
