Re: Shoei visor screws coming loose?

There are plastic screws that hold the visor brackets in place. I've never had an issue with them coming out though. I do tighten them on occasion, just to make sure.

Re: Shoei visor screws coming loose?

I had that problem with an RF-700 I used to have and just periodically tightened them. They would never come loose enough to fall off or anything though.

Sounds like an old model check it's born on date. It may be telling you it is ready to retire

Re: Shoei visor screws coming loose?

Maybe a dab of silicone sealant on the threads? Unless the ammonia melts the EPS.

Re: Shoei visor screws coming loose?

I have had issues with them coming loose before. I just sprayed the threads with the wife's hairspray as pseudo loctite.

I'll have to look at this.

Its a RF1000 I bought last July. The manufacture date is 02/06.
The visor doesnt fall off but gets loose as the screws back out. It feels as if the visor is only half installed when this happens. My RF800 never had this problem. My visor does go up and down at least 1o times a day.

Construction adhesive doesn't have the ammonia additive.

E-mail Shoie. this may be a manufacturing defect that they would be willing to repair replace the helmet for. If your in Socal they have an office in orange county.
