Fonts for leather suit lettering
Ok, I am sending my suit to John Bickle to get the knee repaired and make a few other small repairs from a couple of offs.
In talking with him he had mentioned that he was having a "winter" special(november to January that's like 1/4 winter sale ) in which he would make the repairs and do up to 8 letters in a somewhat basic font with a background color for 100 bucks.
So that got me thinking. What font should I use? Anyone have a favorite?
Just looking for ideas at this point but I may just pick something out of my e-mail editor if I can't find something suitable.

No Hammer this year :(
What are you going to have it say? I was kind of wanting something on my back as well but can't think of anything.

I was hoping for my last name...
I'm too slow to put anything catch like "flash" or "vapour" or "bye" on it

In road racing speak "flopper" is synomonous with "crasher".
Just making a joke, you are by no means a flopper. However, that word emblazoned on your back may give several people cause to stay away from you . . .

Sherlock
This font is called snap ITC.
Edit: If you have access to photoshop, it's got a bunch of fonts to choose from. Other programs like MS word do too but a more limited amount, I think.

Actually, the fonts are primarily a function of the OS. Certain apps load fonts into the windows\fonts directory, but they are managed by the OS. You can also buy TT fonts from several sources. I think I have about 2400 at this point . . .

I'm pretty sure photoshop carries its own set of fonts.

if Windows is anything like a Mac its entirely down to the OS. On a Mac the fonts are all contained in the system folder. each application just pulls them from there.

It has "additional" fonts, as does Corel Draw and a myriad of graphics based programs. However, before you can use them, they have to be installed in the \windows\fonts directory and several root registry entries are required for font selection.

That's exactly what I said.
Edit: In other words, if you have windows XP with a fixed number of preinstalled font types, that's all you have access to.
When you install programs like, photoshop for instance, they install their own set of fonts. If you go to the advanced installation, you can even choose which ones you want to install. Those fonts are not available in other software installed under the same OS instance, unless you import them.
So the OS has some, software might add some.
Or am I wrong?

I see what you're saying. we got confused thinking you meant that each program just uses its own fonts. so yes you are correct. and now that you have those fonts that came with photoshop they should be available to your other programs too.
