New Leathers

Since everyone else was doing it this year, I figured I'd join the fray.

I'd actually been playing with a design in my head for a while and, with Grattan a mere weeks away, had procrastinated as long as I possibly could.

I contacted SYED Leathers <http://www.syedleathers.com/> and walked through the measurement and ordering process with them. After faxing in my order and emailing some pics for detail, I got a call from SYED to clarify some bits a few minutes later. I was told that my custom logo might be a bit too detailed to do in leather but I figured it was worth a shot and asked them to do what they could.

This is the logo and design I sent:

Here's what I got back:

The work on the leathers is outstanding, it fits perfectly and the detail they were able to achieve on the crossed sabers is just plain amazing.

It's been an expensive June but now, I'm actually ready for Grattan...

Very nice

I wanted to get something sewn on the back of my leathers symbolizing my field of employment, but couldn't find an outline of a slide rule, pocket protector, or taped glasses.

Love the cavalry swords Seamus, that is sweet.

I was going to write more of a review type post but I just can't put it into words. I'm that impressed with what SYED was able to do.

I didn't even hang them up, they're draped over the couch so I can keep staring at them.

Nice, but if you were *that* excited about them you'd be wearing them as you sit at the computer not staring at them on the couch.

Very nice!

I'm curious - how was the measurements/fitting process? I'm always nervous about doing something like that remotely. I had great luck with a pair of custom textile pants a couple of years ago, but a 1pc suit would be something else entirely. No going gonzo at the all you can eat buffet after sending those measurements in. Lol.

2 hours yesterday and another hour today. Plus, I can't see the detail work with them on.

I was a bit nervous about it myself but it was actually pretty easy. The full 12 page order form is on the left side of the website homepage. Attached the measurement pages (19 different measurements for a 1 piece, 22 for a two piece suit). It ended up spot on

Looks damn nice dude, that is some pretty crazy detail too!

Is your real name SYED or is that just what you want people who see you in your leathers to call you?

I'm glad I wasn't the only that realized the impact that purchase had on the bovine population. It was probably about as large an impact as we'll have on it at The Timbers! WOO HOO!

Thanks. As for the herd, I figure I've removed enough cows, and their associated methane, to equalize MCADX Days.
I did it for you guys

I think I deserve one of those Presidential Medals of Freedom.
