Glove cleaning tips ??

Any advice on cleaning the INSIDE of your gloves? I have a tendancy of getting my gloves pretty dirty on the inside. It probably stems from my routine of coming off the track, pulling my gloves and inspecting my tires after every session. I usually put the bike on stands, spin the tires and rub any debris off while I inspect and feel the surface of the rubber before putting the warmers back on. Add to that the other sweat and grime that gets stuffed back into my gloves every time I put my hands in them and you get quite a brew of muck inside my gloves after a short period of use.

Re: Glove cleaning tips ??

I heard to get rid of smell due to bacteria, leaving them in the freezer for a couple days is a good option but I have never tried it yet.

I don't have any glove cleaning advice but how about you clean your hands before putting the gloves back on.

Re: Glove cleaning tips ??

Sounds like you need a tip to wash your hands, not clean the gloves. You should fix the problem, not treat the symptom.

Nevermind.

I've obviously painted a more disgusting picture than was necessary to get the point across. There is nothing wrong with my hygene I am just picky about having clean gear.

I have had good results with soaking them in Ivory with water for about 20 minutes and then soaking them in plain water for about an hour. You need to let them dry completely (around 3 days) before using them or they will crack right next to the seams. A bit of neadsfoot oil all around and you should be good to go.

I second that, as it is exactly what Held recommends for their gloves. It works very well.

Lexol leather conditioner for the outside also keeps the gloves supple and helps resist cracking after they're dry.
