For anyone that may be in the market for a new Lid... Arai are replacing the RX7 "Corsair" with a new model. (and you all expected pictures of a scantilly clad female?! Right?! )
In Nth & Sth America it appears the new model will be the RX7 "V" and for the rest of the world? the RX7 "GP"
I guess this means we will start to see Corsairs on clearout ready to make way for the new Lid on the block. (Having a quick look on one british site Corsairs were already £150.00 off...)
I love my Arai, but for $800 I'll be shopping elsewhere when it's time to replace it.
I was thinking of trying one on to see if its easy to get glasses into them but after seeing the price it would have to be molded around my head for me to buy it.
I'll probably go with another Suomy because Suomy+pavement=fine, while Scorpion+grass/dirt=concussion. Still $500-650 is a lot of money.

My RX-7 Corsair is my first Arai. I wanted to replace my RF-900 with another Shoei, but the new Shoei just didn't fit right.
I knew the Arai was for me as soon as it went on my head.
Safety is definitely the most important factor. I'm not due for a new one just yet. Left-overs seem like a good idea, then again wouldn't you have to replace it sooner if you want to use it on the track?
If you think that loud pipes save lives, imagine what learning to really ride that thing could do.

yup supposed to be 5 years from the date of manufacture. I was really happy last spring when I bought the Scorpion because it was made in the begining of 08. Well it didn't last a year before I "used" it for its intended purpose. not so happy with the concussion I got when hitting soft ground so I'm gonna go back to a more expensive helmet. I'd rather the wallet take the hit than my brain.
