On your visors???? Really? I clean my helmet with Honda Polish but I always remove the visor prior to keep it away.

Yep, works great. Windex can actually damage any anti-fog coating your visor may have.

The old fashioned way - washcloth soaked with warm water.

I normally just run water over it and use my hand, works pretty good but theres some smudges that just wont come off.

I like the "Barbershop" method...
![]() Soak a towel (or paper towel) in hot water and lay it over the visor and buggy part of the helmet. Press it down and wait 4-5 minutes... After the buggy bits have softened up, wipe everything off, then hit it with a little Honda Polish...sorted...

If I have the time, I'll pull the visor off and wash it under warm tap water. Of all the methods I think this keeps it the cleanest. The real question is how do you keep your second visor clean? With the hours I keep at work, the sun sits about 5 degrees off center for the entire portion of my slabride. On the way out, it wants nothing to do with me, and the smoked visor is no longer a good option. I used to use the old socks method, now I just wrap it in microfiber cloth and a piece of double sided velcro. It's ghetto, but it works. |

Water and a terry cloth towel. As others noted, warm water works better.
I've also used water with a few drops (~1 part in 20+) of anti-fog (Rainex brand) which works really good. Put that in a little spray bottle wrapped in a hand rag/towel and throw it in the tank bag. Never had to replace a shield due to scratching, and most of my helmets go 4-5 years ... upwards of 40k miles on a couple.

Plexus as well. I use an "eye glasses" optical cloth (12 x 12) that I got from an Optometrist buddy of mine. Works great on my ZG windshield too. I've noticed if I use anything else, they tend to scratch.

Not sure if the below product is available outside Oz...
CHUX I always carry one of the above cleaning cloths, dampened with cold water, in a zip lock bag... bugs wipe strait off, and i use a microfibre cloth to dry it off. I use an iridium visor, which are renowned for scratching, my current visor is 3yo with No scratches to be seen... Cheers, G

I just use warm water and a soft towel if I'm at home. In my trunk I keep a mini bottle of Plexus (Thanks to Sheep) and a microfiber cloth.
