929 Luggage
So I have been looking at these Cargo Converti bags from CycleGear.
Cycle Gear - CARGO Converti Saddlebags BLACK: Converti Saddlebags, BLACK
When I was doing my forced commute I ran the bike and all my items I needed to carry down to CycleGear to try them on and unfortunately, wasn't too happy. BUT, I was carrying two laptops and all assorted cables, a college Algebra book, three ring binder, and a couple of large spiral notebook. It all fit, but due to the initial sag and the fact that my 929 still has the stock bbq pit sized exhaust the bags were drooping and touching the tailpipe. The only thing I didn't really futz with was making more adjustment to the bags/straps.
I recently have been feeling a little wanderlust and have been wanting to do a little roaming with me and the wife. If money was no issue, I would just spring for a nice sport touring machine and be done with this, but it is, and at about $120 for the Converti bags I am thinking that get them and I just don't overload the right side bags and live with the look. Unloaded though, they do seem to look and fit pretty nice.
Anyone have a 929 solution that's in or near this price range? I do admit it's pretty low, but I have everyone and their uncle reaching for my wallet lately.

Oxford makes a pretty good set too. I like mine a lot, at least when I was using them on the 929
See you at GRATTAN

Do too.
I don't want to lie to you but I'm trying to sell my JR Velocity saddlebags if I can get MrsSeamus to quit pretending she's going to use them.
Until I can get a pic, they look like this

I like the Ventura stuff, but it may be more pricey than that. It's been awhile since I purchased it.

Who's driving?
Do you have a tank bag of some sort? I still have the one from my 929 collecting dust, its your if you want it. Its not big, but it may be big enough for your cables and junk so that the rest can just fit in a single tail bag.

Thanks G. I still have my tank bag so I am good there. I was thinking that something where we could throw in a couple changes of clothes and some toiletries would be good. I just don't want to have to drag around a backpack so I was looking into these sidebags.
Seamus, if you do decide, let me know a price and I will definitely give it some consideration. How did you like them when they were used? Any issues with heat and the exhaust being so close? I was literally afraid that I would melt my laptop if I put it in the right side.

Do too.
The problem I had was they didn't do well with the 1000RR's underseat exhaust. Couldn't use the undertail stabilizing cords so they hung loose.
Still wasn't bad and they can carry a lot of stuff. MrsSeamus used them a couple times on her SV and they hung to within half an inch from the exhaust with no issues whatsoever.

The good thing about the Ventura system is that it sits on a rack/the passenger area so it's no where near any exhaust.

I am going to have to take a look at the Ventura system. I do remember someone (H if I remember correctly) had one on his 929, and we were all commenting on it one ride.
Seamus, I don't have underseat exhaust so the adjustments might work properly, I just have a Texas sized smoker hanging off the right hand side. I should probably try cooking a meal or two by putting hinges on the side of the can.
