ND4SPD glad you found the website! You may have also seen our advertising in many motorcycle magazines, as well as our gear on multiple top athletes. SS is a new product owned by Tucker Rocky and designed by Bruce Parker and his team at Parker Synergies. I am the national sales specialist for the brand, and I would be more than happy to answer any questions anybody may have on the apparel. You can find the apparel at your local Tucker Rocky retail shop, as most have ordered and received product by now. Again, please feel free to contact me anytime - I try to stay up on forums but I am very busy so the best way would just to be send me an email through the forum email service. I travel the country week in and week out selling to the dealers and working events, so I may be in your area at some point in time doing a ride or an open house. To anyone that has looked at the product thank you and I hope you are soon riding Speed and Strength gear!

Now with custom avatar.
You found us!
So who is making this stuff, firstgear?

I looked at the Gear at the Moto GP event in Indy. Looked like a decent product, a little on the bling side, but not too bad.

Bruce Parker and his team at Parker Synergies designs the product. Tucker Rocky and Parker Synergies both have hands in manufacturing while Tucker Rocky owns the brand and is the sole distributor. First Gear and SS are two completely separate entities, but both are proprietary brands of Tucker Rocky. First Gear caters to a specific rider segment, and Tucker Rocky felt it was valuable to own a brand that catered to the other motorcycle segments...hence Speed and Strength is alive.
Hammer, did you get a chance to talk to Bruce or I at Indy MotoGP? We are a little bit of bling with some jackets, but what we want to deliver is a quality motorcycle jacket to everyone riding a bike with style and value. We don't care if it's a sportbike, cruiser, adventure, touring, whatever...two wheels and a motor is all it takes to wear a SS jacket. If you look at our whole line, you will understand what I'm talking about. We only have 12 jacket styles (including our suit) yet we hit every motorcycle segment (some of our jackets cross over well). We have quality product, safety, a wide array of features and benefits, great value, and style to boot.
If you guys have any questions, again feel free to contact me. I keep my email and my cell open for dealers and consumers. My cell is (810)919-6272 and my email is neller@tuckerrocky.com. I am also listed in the front of the 09 Tucker Rocky apparel catalog so if you are at a TR dealer and want to know anything specific about a SS jacket feel free to look in the catalog and call me.

Thanks for the post Bruce, and welcome to the site. I did not talk to anyone at Indy, it was a little crazy in there with all the people. It did look like you had a good selection at the event.

Well if you wanted to get yourself out there, you could send us all a free jacket for our street apparel. By doing that we could say how great it is while we're benchracing at the local hangout and you could get word of mouth advertising.

I'm sure I could give a full review with some "test samples".

Actually, this isn't Bruce. This is Nate...I work with Bruce. Yeah there was a ton of people at Indy!
ND4SPD...our leather is 1.2-1.4 mm leather with minimal stitching in key areas to prevent tears during a crash. All of our jackets (and suit) have very nice CE approved armor in the elbows/forearms and shoulders, and a pretty large, very good (for stock) dual density back protector. Obviously it's not expensive aftermarket highly engineered armor or anything like that, but it's some pretty damn good armor (compared to other jackets on the market) for a stock jacket and great quality shell material. The textile jackets are almost all AR-600D, with a few made from AR-800D material (Hang 'em High, To the Nines); so our textile is industry leading in the quality and abrasive resistance of the material. I can't say from personal experience with this gear, but as a rider that has definitely gone down I personally trust the gear .
I wish I could give all of you test samples...unfortunately they are even short to come by for me! To be honest, we have been selling a LOT of jackets for a brand that has only been out for a few months (due to the experience in the industry within the brand and the excellence of having Tucker Rocky as the owner and distribution). We've all been working very hard to get the advertising out to the consumers and then fill our dealers with a good quality product to back up the advertising. I have been on the road non-stop all week long for 3 months (even with a baby due here in 2 weeks!), so we are definitely putting in the effort and support for our dealers and consumers.
As soon as I find the first person I know to have crashed in the gear (who knows, maybe it will be me?), I'll try and get some pics and the crashee's review of the jacket or suit he/she crashes in!
