Re: What kind of helmet do you own?

Is there a way you can let people vote more than once? I'm sure many have more than one brand.

Re: What kind of helmet do you own?

Yeah, I still technically own an AGV, a few Arais and a Scoprion.
But I wear the Scorpion.

Re: What kind of helmet do you own?

Two Arais and an HJC here. None of them are usable any longer. I had a Suomy Spec 1R for a month or two last year but I sold it after getting rid of my bike. I will probably get another one if I can find one with a recent manufacture date. While noisy, it was the best fitting helmet I've put on my dome.

2 arais RX7-RR4, 2 Shoei RF800. Only the Arai is seeing any real use.

Re: What kind of helmet do you own?

Suomy Spec1R Guareschi replica

gonna buy a new one sometime this spring. not sure what, maybe an Arai or Scorpion. The Shoei X11 is nice but the material on the padding is a little scratchy, not all smooth and soft like my Suomy.

Re: What kind of helmet do you own?

The Shoei's I've tried on seem to fit my smaller (female) face, but I feel as if my cheeks are being forced into my teeth. I would like to try a Schuberth - I'm told they are pricy, but very high quality.

My wife wears a scorpion, and she likes it very much. She says it fits her face well and doesnt give her the "squish mouth"

Re: What kind of helmet do you own?

What's interesting about the Schuberth is the inner tinted goggle-shield that retracts.

I'll go try on a Scorpion this weekend..

just before Grattan last year I got a new Suomy Extreme. same as the my old spec-1r but with the added top vent and an iridium shield.

tried on the Arai RX7 and it fit very well but I couldn't get my glasses in without a bunch of fighting. so that was a no go.

the Shoei RF1000 just doesn't fit my dome properly so that was a no.

Tried a Shark RSR, fit nice but if I remember correctly it seemed a little heavy for a $700 helmet.

I wore Shoei for years and wanted to buy a new RF-1000. They just don't fit the shape of my head anymore.

I went with Arai this time b/c it fit. I have to admit that for the extreme cost of the Arai, I am disappointed in the build quality. It's unacceptable that you risk busting the helmet any time you want to change shields. On a positive note, the customer service is top-notch and they send replacement parts free of charge.

Not sure what the next one will be....

I've been impressed with the quality, materials, and fit and finish of Shark Helmets more then anything else. The visor has to be at least 1/8" thick! Too bad they didn't fit my head right

I currently have an Arai RX-7

I own a KBC, excellent helmet, it is aged out though

I have an HJC, It sits, because it never really fit me right.

My current one is an ICON and it probably the best helmet I have worn to date. I was a little freaked about being the ICON name, but it is very high quality (in my opinion) and very comfortable.

Every helmet manufacturer uses a different standard for head shape so every brand will fit differently on different shaped heads.... if its the cheek pads and liner that gave you problems the Scorpians are completely replaceble with different sizes to fit your needs
