Akuma helmets

Anybody know anything about these guys?

They don't seem to have a large selection but I like their designs.

Also, this bit is interesting; off their "About Us" page:

Quote:
The I.P.S.™ (Integrated Power System) used in our helmet line is a patented system invented and developed by Kerry Harris and is a product of IHT Technology, Inc. The I.P.S.™ system is a total product philosophy which can, will, and is allowing products to be integrated and upgraded with the latest electronic features and customizations. Akuma helmets, the next step in helmet evolution.
Electrochromatic visor. Way cool

Auto tint visor with UV is OK but I don't need any blinking lights. Also auto tint stuff that I have had is affected by temperature and altitude also so was a bit spotty.

It's not auto tint. It's user controlled.

Definitely thinking in different directions. Like the ingenuity.

Cool shield ugly helmet though. Whats the deal with slapping all the plastic on top of helmets seems like companies are going overboard with that nowadays

Actually they have both. Now price on the powered on though. I saw one at Indy that did that and it was $$$$$$$$

Looked on their site and all they said was that they were DOT approved, I didn't see anything about SNELL

Also what do they weigh? On long rides a helmet lighter by a small amount matters.

How about this thing: GMax GM68 Crusader Helmet - Motorcycle Superstore webbikeworld named it helmet of the year for 2007. They had nothing bad to say about it. Said the visor sealed way better than most, that it flows way more air than most, that the visor was so perfect that it was like it wasn't there, and that it was quieter than average. All for $107 and includes the blinky LED's, and TWO shields, and deluxe bag with shield pocket.

Here are more very positive reviews:
