'08 A*s Supertechs!
Without a doubt, these are the loudest set of boots, nay, the loudest clothing piece I have ever owned (even when factoring in the teenage years).
They just got here. The White/Black Ventilated "GP Track Camo" version. Good god they stand out. But the support they seem to offer is solid. I like the "internal" support brace (as opposed to external like my Sidi boots; some of you may recall I have 'hang up' issues on my rearsets with externally braced boots). I like there is no plastic on the inner portion of the boot (so there is no melting when my oversized foot touches my pipe when moving around); rather it's a heavy suede. This mfg picture does not do them the justice (or should I say injustice). When I get home, I'll post up some pics. ENLARGED IMAGE of boots. |

Saw a pair of those at Barber this weekend. Yes, loud is a good word for them.
Just loud enough to stand out but not horribly.

Bringing this thread back from the dead ...
How is the fit on these? My dealer tells me that they are on the skinnier side of the Sidi's. Have you found this to be true? I just sold my Oxtars as they were too big and my heel slipped around. I'm looking at the A* primarily because they have an internal lacing system that locks the foot in. Any comments on fit would be greatly appreciated! |

These are the Supertech Rs, right? Since they're the '08, I'm thinking they are. I have an old pair of Supertechs, probably 6 or so years old, that I'm thinking of upgrading. Mine lace up the back, zipper up the back, and are closed at the top by velcro. The new ones look like they lace up the front, zipper on the side, buckle closure at top? I was tired after a trackday and pushed my boots off, forgetting to unzip them. They came off, much to my dismay, still laced and zippered. Not a good thing. If the fit on the new ones is more secure, I may get them sooner than later...
