New Boots

Not as cool as a huge new shop but these are on the way. XPD XP5-R. Got them super cheap, they discontinued them. They aren't quite the Puma's I wanted but the price was right.

Is that an inner boot that I see in there?

BTW, those don't really match your pink jacket too well.

Seems like they would make pedaling the huffy more difficult. Hmmm, but let us step back and look at this from another angle.

THEY WERE ON SALE!

How can ya pass that up??????

Nice looking boots. Never heard of them. Write us up review.

Website here: XPD - motorcycle boots

This is what it says about the internal bits on the XP5-R
Quote:
Top performance XPD racing boot. Takes on the XP5 technical specifics, plus features exclusive AGS system, an internal ankle protection device able to reduce damages and torsions in case of crash.

What pink jacket

I stumbled across them a year ago or so and thought they looked nice, they are apparently more popular outside the U.S. The review might be a moot point since the only place that is listed as a U.S. distributor now has them on closeout and lists them as a discontinued item. They have other models that are steps down from these. The next step down looks identical but doesn't have the inner hardware (XP5) Then they have a step down from there that was priced around $200 that seemed fairly similar to something like a SIDI B2 (XP3). Below that they have some other options but you would have to check the website.

Got the boots in last week. They look pretty good. They aren't quite as stiff as I expected them to be, but my only experience with MC boots are MX boots so maybe they are all like this. I expected a little more stiffness. The internal ankle device will add quite a bit of abrasion resistance on a side slide but I don't think it is stiff enough to actually make much difference in ankle flexion or extension like they claim. I like the overall "fit and finish" quite a bit. When it warms up I'll update.

I have The Sidi corsa boots and don't care for the ankle protection system on the outside kinda like the pumas. The boots with the outside ankle protection (at least in my case) seem to get caught on the rearsets from time to time. This can be really bad at the end of a straight. I think you'll be better off with these than the Pumas! I have to try boots on before i buy. I not only have a skinny frame but my feet are very narrow. causes problems when buying boots. the only reason i bouoght the corsas is the toe strap or they wouldn't have fit.

Saw those at Indy and they are a nice boot I think you will love them. You do know that the camo pieces are Moto-GP tracks?

Slickwill not all members are in the US so write them up it could help someone
