I need a Pitbull for a SSA as well if anyone has an extra.

Can you really jack up a VFR by the headers without bending something?

Yeah. I've done it many times with the front in a baxley or up on a pit bull newfront, and if I really need stability, I also hang it from the rafters.

You don't actually jack it up per se....you rock it backward while it's on the centerstand and place the block under the pipes or pan.

You can jack the 929 up from the headers with a 2x4 and not hurt anything. At least once, you can.

Bake's technique looks better than how I did the 929 tires last time, cherry picker to tie downs in the rear and pitbull in front. Solid enough though.

Speaking of which, Z, it just so happens, I have an MV SS PitBull in the rafters, and could really use a standard PitBull rear stand.

What is the diameter of the hole in your VFR hub?

Really not sure. I don't have calipers to measure it with. Pit Bull does sell the pins separately. I'll email them to see what they have to say. They don't list an MV specific pin/stand on their site but if I had to guess it's probably the same as the Ducati, which is different from the VFR.

Maybe I missed it but they don't seem to have a forward handle model for the VFR? With the size of my garage the forward handle style would help preserve room.

    BJG -

I haven't heard great things about the forward handle ones.. a guy whose trackday org was sponsored in some way by PB said that it was a stupid design and not worth the effort or the money.

But that was being used for a conventional swing arm - maybe it works better for a sssa.

haven't used one myself, so there you go.

Slick...if space is a premium, you want to find a Superbike unit like CBRVFR has....

Alternately, I could build you a copy of the pneumatic endurance version for about $3,000 delivered...

Haven't used this one, but it's basically similar -

If room is really at premium, a Baxley's the answer.

They already wrote back, confirming that the pin is different(as evident on their site, after a second look )

In all actuality, if space is a premium, the centerstand is the answer.

I do want a Baxley but I also need something to get the rear tire off the ground. My space restriction is the length of the garage so having the stand hanging out behind the bike was my concern. If the forward handle stands are known as problematic then I probably will look for something like the one in the eBay link. (I've actually looked at that exact stand).
