2007 600RR For Sale AFTER Grattan

    Folks,

The "Bling" bike from 2008 will be for sale Wednesday at Grattan. What a great opportunity to test ride it at the track then take it home with you!

Jim Sheldon basically built the bike for me and it is documented on his site. Here's the link:

SPEEDMADNESS.COM - Jim Sheldon's build of Tim Whitakers Honda CBR600RR

Carbon Fiber tail, solo cowl, lower fairings and front fender and underseat panels have been added since the build. I'll list it in the for sale section as well, but I figured the folks at Grattan would have a chance to see it first hand, and prepare to take it home with them! I have title in hand, no bank BS.

It has a whopping 1800 miles on it as it sits, and was Dynoed this spring @ 117hp.

    $11,000

I have Jims old trailer too, it's for sale as well. $1200. I'll post up some pics later this week of it.

Opinions: Is the price right? I REFUSE to just "give it away"....considering all of the mods.

My bike shared the ride to Grattan Tim's bike and made my my bike look rather lame by comparison. This bike is very nice with well chosen mods.

sorry to get your hopes up but its just not the right time for me to buy a bike unless you hit me with a price that I really couldn't resist (such as near or below $3500), then I couldn't resist. but that price wouldnt be fair to you.

We recently spent the weekend with Tim at the Indy MotoGP where he was able (through special tickets) run close to 30 laps around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway MotoGP track. He told me the bike ran and performed flawlessly and that he now has a set of heavily scuffed knee pucks to add to his ticket stub and program which he plans to frame and hang on his wall. He also mentioned that the bike drew rave reviews on the work I completed for him. Sweet!
This story would make a great thread...

Here's how to get involved in getting to do the laps. I have 2 tickets I'm not using this year, and would qualify for getting to do the laps. Last year we were there and got on the track before the safety cars were on. I had put on new knee pucks with the intent of dragging my knee at Indy. Mission accomplished.

If I charged $1 a sticker it would double the price of the trailer!

Here's a link to the album with the trailer pics:

So you were one of the lucky early-birds....

We got there just after they started running the safety cars...

Still it was worth the experience, we did a couple of laps, and even got a few pictures...see post 5...

Trailers aren't very maintenance intensive....repack the wheel bearings every other year, check the lights and tires. If it has electric brakes, make sure the battery that provides power to the brakes if the trailer breaks away is charged. Keep a check on the tightness of the lug nuts. Generally look it over for any rust, etc.

Wheel bearings were "officialy" repacked 3 years ago. I gave them a good greasing while we were at the track with Apex's grease gun. It has "Bearing Buddies" so they stay pretty sealed. The trailer is in Waterloo, Iowa. I can take it back to the Toledo area if you were intersted.

I've been pricing/watching trailers for 6 months now. A trailer in his condition at that price is hard to beat.

Dang Tim, if I had a vehicle that would tow it I'd be up to Waterloo in an instant. Good luck with the sale.
