That's a pretty wicked deal E. Motorwork from KWS is in the neighborhood of 2k, and you probably should figure 400 for a set of spare wheels w/ rotors.

Shit I'd feel guilty paying that little for that bike... even though it is a Suzuki.

That one sounds to good to be true. That is a lot of extra stuff for that price.
...dude you ride an offroad bike with slicks, 1/2 the weight of a GS, double the suspension, with a browning 50 cal going off 32" from your skull as a daily freaking driver - I'd expect anything except a nitro dragbike to be bland by comparison - SSG

    Re: 600cc race bike

Had a look at this bike this week-end.

The frame, wheels, suspension "looks" straight..... motor runs, we started it for a few seconds.

He's asking 3700$. Need at least, rear set, clip on, swing arm, sub-frame, cluster and some other stuff....... Most of them would had to be replace on a new bike anyway though...

Never even bought a used bike, so I don't have much confidence with salvage one.... Don't know what to do

I wouldn't touch it. It looks more like a parts bike to me. Spend some more money and get a decent bike to start with.

Already set up race bikes aren't much more expensive than that.

Looks pretty rough. Swingarm and subframe will be a bit of money that you don't need to spend.... Tank is ratched too. Even the rad took a pretty good whack there.

Yeah, I had money in my pocket Saturday and the trailer with me. Decided to "think" about it. When I talked to the seller it seamed that all that was needed was "some plastic"......

Even knowing I lucked out with my wreck, I don't think I'd pay more than $2k for that one. Looks like it took a pretty good tumble.

With the repair/rebuild experince I've gained over the years I have to agree with the pack so far. Looks like a lot of damage for the asking $$.

Though most would be replaced off a new bike consider value. Either the ability to reconvert to street use or as used parts.

    Re: 600cc race bike

I would walk away from that one JBD. With most of the damaged parts gone it is really hard to tell what area got the most impact in the spill. The forks on these new sportbikes are fragile and expensive to replace. I lucked out on mine, has one lower tube that was tweaked .002 and cost $500 to replace it. You can look around at some bikes that are already set up for a couple of grand more than that.

What are you wanting? It seems you are wanting a 2007 CBR600, you seem to be leaning in that direction. There are not a lot of racers that are running honda, due to contingency money, at least around here. So they will be hard to find, unless it is a die hard Honda fan. If you are wanting "That Bike" you may take a look at purchasing a new bike and selling the parts that you do not need to fund the upgrades you are wanting. You would have to do the math and see what the possibility is of doing it that way. I did get some good money out of the plastic on my bike that was good on Ebay. Just a thought.

The pack is right. I've seen 07s with lowside damage for $4000. I think buying a new one is your best bet. You might get a sweet deal on a left over, what with all these 08s coming in.

$9,500 for a 2006 GSXR 600 set up very nice

I guarantee you that you will spend way more setting up a bike that this one will run you, and you still will be short some of the goodies.
