Thanks. A supermoto race with dirt, gravel, tire-wall climbing, grass, jumps, etc, might give me a chance...

They're usually sold as-is unless you get the extended warranty, which I'm not sure if SuMo stuff is covered or not. I can give Jeff a call though if you like.

Have you considered a Kawasaki Verseys? It's a 650 twin and as close to a supermoto as you can get.

Or.. buy the new Kawasaki KLX250 motard and put the overbore kit into it to make it a 331.

Or.. buy a Kawasaki KLR650, put the 705 kit into it and motard it yourself.

Crap, Crap, Crap. I did not start the year as I expected.
I gave a check to the guy selling the bike and I was going to go back and pick it up when it cleared.
Well, he sold it to someone else.
Some people's word is worth absolutely zero.
Oh, well, back on the hunt.

Suggestions, please. Yes I know, I'll bring cash next time. Other than that.

I would demand cash if he deposited your check. It might be a good thing though as if his word is worth zero what was wrong with the bike Best to not do business with dishonest people.

Wow - that's pretty rude. Once someone has given you a check, I think most folks would call the deal done.

But as Ninerpilot said, you'll find something better.

Here you go: ebay link

Not very close to Fort Worth, but maybe we could work out a way for me to keep it for you until July

I need something I can pick up within a weekend's driving distance. I don't want to use vacation days for this. As nice as the Aprilia is, and I would buy it tomorrow if is was nearer, even though they make me a bit uneasy,
I think NH is beyond where I'd like to go.

He never deposited the check. I'm very surprised since he said he needed the money. But he knew before I went to his home that the check was from out of state and he said he did not mind. Oh, well.

He seemed like a very nice guy. The price, which we agreed at 5000, was a bit low in the back of my mind, but he did not haggle it. I guess he had someone else already lined up for a cash purchase but didn't want to miss the chance of selling it to me just in case the other guy didn't show up.

That is exactly what I am looking for. Even at a great price I think. But too far unfortunately. Thanks for your kind offer to store it for me though.

Most of the bikes I seem to be interested in are in either California, the North-East, or Florida.

And a word of advice for those of you who have a money market account. Check how and how fast you can get the money out of it if you need it in a pinch. You might get a surprise.

Bummer about the XR Juan. I've been away from the thread for a few days and I was all fired up when you said you picked one up. Then was shocked when you said it fell through. I was really getting excited about that XRR showdown that Evl mentioned even though I probably can't be there

You'll have to stop in Des Moines and pick up mine to take to Grattan.

Juan: If you're at all interested in an Aprilia, you should check this one out. $5000 and no shipping needed.

WOW!!! There you go! Looks like a great deal to me!

I thought I might be getting into the motard thing a little bit ago...a guy in town had a 2004 Husky 450 SMR for sale, he had an interest in aquiring an RC51 again, so we meet up and rode each other's bikes. Always knew I would love a motard....

We agreed to consider the trade over the weekend...then somebody showed up with cash and stole the Husky! Oh well, the deal that is supposed to happen will work out!

Good luck with your search, Juan!

Jet,

According to the guys at the shop, all the investigating that they did on the Aprilia led them to believe that it was manufactured after the problem had been solved.

They're an Aprilia dealer right? You'd think they would know for sure? Or give them a call with serial # in hand and find out.

I'll find out for sure if I go for it. It's either racing next season or a motard and track days.....

Thanks for the call

No, they're a Benelli dealer. I'm guessing they called Seacoast Sport Cycle, which is the local Aprilia dealer, for the info.
