Suzuki GSXR 750 Salvage
I am looking for a good track bike. Does anyone know where I can buy a salvage bike with hopefully no major frame damage only cosmetic? Thanks.

I'm sure you know, but watch the CCS and WERA boards.

Re: Suzuki GSXR 750 Salvage
If you want to go with a Honda 600RR, there is a guy on the WERA board who's in CT selling a race-prepped one with tons of goodies on it for a great price. I think it's an '05. (he was selling a few of them, not sure if he has any left). His screen name on WERA is boccarp. Cool guy, I got some Sharkskinz from him for my 929.

Thanks. I am not sure if I am ready just yet but I want to start looking so I have an idea of what to expect.

Re: Suzuki GSXR 750 Salvage
If you are looking at getting a track bike.....get a bike that is already tracked out ready to ride. It is not only cheaper but is a lot easier to deal with. If you figure all the goodies you need (want) for a salvage bike + to fix the damage existing to the bike you will be deeper than you realize. I done just as you are thinking about doing and wish I would have gotten an old race bike. You can pick them up at a decent price, but you have to be looking and ready to pull the trigger quick.

Re: Suzuki GSXR 750 Salvage
"Frodo pads front and rear"
right from middle earth . . .
"Ohlins super bike forks (WERA and CCS legal in super stock)
- 25mm gold valves
- 155lb to 185 lb riders
- Recently serviced
- Setup for front ($1,800) These are the best you can get before replacing fork tubes."
When did Ohlins start using Gold Valves? Who would pay 1800.00 for any of that crap?
If they were in fact Ohlins Superbike forks, they:
A: Wouldn't be legal for Superstock or Supersport
B: Wouldn't need Gold Valves
C: Certainly would have already replaced the fork tubes as Ohlins Supebike forks include fork tubes
I question this person's veracity . . .

Now in stereo
Visionaries say "Yes, we can."
Engineers say "Not so fast."

Has BDA sold his 600rr yet? I recall he built that from a salvage title and by all witness accounts, it's pretty sweet.

I got an extremely good deal on the bike itself. You won't get that kind of deal from ANY of the salvage dealers, I looked for quite a while.
For what I paid for a new, current generation bike, I built a bike cheaper than I could have bought.
However, most of the time that will not happen.

So, is it like, sold? Or are you going to keep it for a while?

Done.
Re: Suzuki GSXR 750 Salvage
It is no longer available for purchase.
