    2006 Ducati 749R Race/Track Bike

    2006 DUCATI 749R RACE BIKE

Former backup bike from Larry Pegram’s 2007 AMA Formula Extreme racing season, which I purchased from him in early 2008.

Here is what Larry told me about the bike when I bought it from him:
    · ‘06 749 R with a race 848 motor with just 400 km on the motor
    · Makes 143 rear wheel on pump gas (I’ve not had it dyno’d, so can’t confirm - but it's damn fast!)
    · Brand new [Corse] bodywork and paint
    · The motor has all Corse factory stuff, with stock 749R transmission
    · It has a Power Commander mapped for pump gas
    · It is a bike Ducati gave me last year for a spare. We disassembled it, put it on the truck and never used it. Then, after the season we put it back together and put one of the race motors in it.
    · It has Ohlins front and rear and the forks have been revalved from World Supersport spec in Italy
    · GP shift with Cycle Cat lever
    · Leo vince ti pipe
    · Bucci slipper
    · Everything in engine you can do (Corse factory flowed heads, etc.)
    · 520 vortex
    · Cycle cat clutch cover
    · Vortex fairing stay
    · Speigler brake lines
    · LP windscreen
    · Corse gas cap
    · Never been titled, still has MSO

Since buying from Larry, I added Pazzo shorty levers, and Sato rearsets

It had just 20 miles on the clock when I bought it from Larry, and now has less than 900. I changed the oil and filter (with full synthetic) after every race weekend.

This bike is extremely fast, incredibly smooth, and I have used it for multiple wins and podium finishes this year at Miller. It also looks beautiful and sounds wicked.

Great for racing in multiple twins classes, along with middleweight classes.

    $13,750.00

    PM me with serious inquiries.

I will give you the more reliable part. But so far, this one's been extremely reliable, other than the chain adjuster block issue (since fixed).

If you ever have the chance to meet the guy you'll probably will never be able to hate him. Depending on what he's getting next (or probably already got) that might change though.

Check my bike list under my avatar. Not sure I really need a black 1098S to complement my red one.

Seen the light and tired of making 2 cylinders work like 4 aye? Kidding...I know it rocks. So if someone buys it off the site does the screen name go with it?

Changed my mind. At this point I'm thinking I'll keep it and probably sell the 1098 instead. That will give me more options on different classes I could race next season. Originally I thought I'd keep the 1098, as I have the street bodywork so it could serve as either a street or track bike, but I can't really see myself using it on the street anymore. I love the 1098, but keeping both is a bit more than I need. My lap times are really close on both bikes, so I think I can still be competitive on the 749R against the 1098s in the Super Twins class.
