Beware when buying from Motorcycle Closeouts.com!

As some of you know I was in the market for a new suit. I found one at a very good price from Motorcycle Closeouts. As I researched the suit I got on line to purchase it, but before sending the money I called them with all my exact measurements, as I was concerned about buying the correct size. After giving ALL my measurements he assured me the suit would work well. 4 days later I get the suit in the mail and of course it doesn't fit. Its at least 2 sizes too small in the quads and too tight in the chest. I know they are supposed to fit tight, but I can't stand up straight, or squat down. I called them up and got the same guy that assured my measurements would work...told him I need to exchange for next size up. Long story short he said he had one left and WOULDN'T hold it for me as it was first come first serve. He said there is no direct exchange but the return had to be returned, credited minus restocking, and reissued the difference. By the time I could get it back to him it and processed it would have been gone so I offered to pay for the other suit right then as long as he would refund the one I needed to send back. He said he could refund minus a 20 dollar restock fee, minus 10% return on the suit, and minus shipping (which would have ended up being 60 bucks total 3 ways) I was very patient with the guy trying to work something out...5 minutes later I ended up telling him I'd do what I had to do to get rid of the suit on ebay or whatever, but I would never buy another piece from them and let everyone know how I was taken care of. The guy was a total dick. He said if that’s the case he'd make a note not to sell to again. (as if that would happen) There is no way I'm gonna lose that much money on a suit that simply doen't fit, and give them the satisfaction of purchasing ANOTHER of the same 4 days later. Was there return policy in the fine print....yep. Would they do anything to help me out....NOTHING AT ALL! Just though you guys should know about buying stuff on line...especially these yo-yo's.

Ouch!! Sounds nasty... That's one reason why I never shop for motorcycle clothing online. I like to make sure I can try it on before I part with my money. Even more so when it comes to helmets.

Lots of people do it with good results, but I've just never been a believer in buying leathers online. Trying them on in shops I've noticed pretty big differences for the same brand and model tagged with the same size.

Yike, I'll stay far far away, thanks.

As ND4 said - newenough.com has always taken VERY good care of me, they are the best alternative to buying in a shop

Are they cheapest? Nope. Are they the single best online motorcycle gear retailer imho. Beyond a shadow of a doubt. If you buy motorcycle gear online, and are even REMOTELY unsure of the fit, ONLY deal with NewEnough.com.

I have heard several good things about new enough. Good companies like that deserve props. Unfortunately it comes down to money. I've spent so much cash this year on a brand new bike, full outfit, got my kid a mini bike, as well as the basic expenses of getting to the track that its caused a few arguments. I shopped for a long time and found a 600 dollar suit for 300 on closeout. Its really a nice suit...just a little too small. I did shop new enough, but for the price I couldn't turn this one down. The problem with on line companies is accountability. They can tell you to get screwed over the phone and you are several states away. You aren't in the store asking for a manager or making a scene. Otherwise it wouldn't happen. The only accountability we have is to ban together and cause pis poor companies like motorcycle closeouts to go under.

Ditto on Newenough. I bought a suit from them via ebay (this has been probably 3 years ago). Once it arrived it was a little small. They didn't have the same suit in a bigger size because they were on clouseout, but they offered to send me comparable suit in a bigger size. They shipped the other suit to me before I even returned the first one and credited me the difference based on the previous purchase at 100% auction price. I was responsible for shipping, but that was very reasonable AFAIC. I've since bought gloves and boots from them on various occasions and been pleased with the service too. I always shop them when I'm considering new gear.
